At Frayser Middle/High School in Memphis, Tennesee there are currently 90 teenage girls who are either pregnant or have given birth in the past year. That's 11% of the school's female population. Some people are blaming this rise in pregnancy rates on shows like Teen Mom and 16 and Pregnant. I don't see why any teenager would want to get pregnant but what do you think? • I don't really think the show is increasing it unless people just want to be on TV?
  • its not just the girls' fault. the blame can also rest on the guys for not being safe.
  • ninetyy!? thats crazyy!
  • Jeez! I can't believe they would either try to get pregnant just to try to be on a tv show.
  • that is a pretty large school if 90 girls is only 11%.. so taking that into account, there would be a lot of people who just don't care. in schools that large, there is a very high number of at-risk students. so it really doesn't surprise me
  • I want to see how this school operates. Also, i'm wondering what is going through the teacher's minds!
  • It's sad. But sometimes people don't mean for it to happen, that many girls though, thats ridiculos.
  • That is just ridiculous. thats all there is to it. Why would you want to get pregnant. basically your teenage life would be over, because they have WAY bigger responsibilities now.
  • When they watch Teen Mom and 16 & Pregnant, they think it's easy to raise a kid in high school.. It's not.. And I bet over half of those boys that got them pregnant won't stay with them. Most guys don't.
  • That is insane, but it kinda reminds me of the movie pregnancy pact. Also, I don't think that 16 and pregnant and teen mom really make kids want to get pregnant. It shows how hard it is to be young and have a kid.
