A 9 year old boy was nearly swept down a 300 feet waterfall. He was looking over the railing when he fell in and the current almost took him away. The 16 year old who saved him, Alec Smith, heard the mothers cries and went over to help right away. That is when he found out that the kid had fallen in. Alec didn't think twice about going in after him and that is exactly what he did. He pulled him to safety just yards from the massive waterfall of the rive. When Alec was asked, "Didn't you know of the great risks you put yourself in?" His reply,"Don't think about what didn't happen, be grateful for what did happen."
Would you have jumped into the raging water to save the kid?
Would you have been able to say what Alec did in front of the media?
Personally, I would have tried to use rope of a stick nearby. My first choice would have been to not jump in, but to find another option. I also would not have been able to say what he did in front of the media, because I would have not been able to do what he did.

No because I would've been scared to. I honestly wouldn't have known to see that. I would've been like, "Yes, but I just wanted to help out."
I would have never thought of something so brilliant and true to say to the media.
I would've jumped in sure. I wouldnt be stupid and try to be a hero, thats not why I would jump in. The only way to stay alive in a situation like that is to get ahold of the kid and let the current take you with it. dont try to fight it or swim to much because you will get tired and you need that energy for when the current weakens.
i dont think that the first thing id think to do, i not really a fan of jumping to my possible death, and I am certain that i would say that to the media, i would probably look stupid
It's kind of hard to put myself in this kind of a situation, but I do know that I would at least try to do something to help. Whether it would be like you and grab a rope or stick or be like Alec and jump in and swim him to shore, I definitely would do something to help. I feel like I would say something around the lines of what Alec said, because I wouldn't be worried about what could have happened, I would have been happy that I rescued and saved the child.
I would have gone to save that kid because it is human nature to help people

I dont know if I would jump in after the child I would like to say I would but I dont know till I have that experiance. I would like to save him but I dont know if I could.
