On interstate 40 in Jefferson, Tennessee, A bus was caring 18 people, mostly seniors from Front Street Baptist Church in Statesville, North Carolina. The investigators say the bus blew its front left tire. It then flew across the center median into oncoming traffic. It hit an SUV and then slammed into a tractor trailer. The crash was left with 8 killed and 14 injured. The driver of the tractor trailer, 6 people on the bus and the three people inside the SUV were all killed. Most of the 14 that were injured were life lighted and are being treated with critical care. In the video it shows all the debris lying around. The tractor trailer was covered in suit and water from the fire that started after the horrific crash.  Everyone in Jefferson, Tennessee are giving there prayers and love to the families of the deceased and injured.

Do you think they should make group buses like this one be serviced and checked before they leave so maybe this could be prevented from happening again?

  • Good job but you could have replied a few more times.

  • I agree! I doubt it will become a law, but i do think people should check everything before they leave. Even if its not a bus, even if its just like a family vacation or road trip you should still check everything before you leave. You can never be to careful.

  • Yes I think they should be checked and inspected so things like this wont happen

  • Yes, I do think that all important parts of a vehicle need to be checked before a long trip. I do think that checking over things could have prevented this from happening. It's just sad that people have already died because of this.

  • If 6 people on the bus and 3 people in the SUV died that would be 9. You can't tell when a tire is going to blow. It could go because it's old, or it could blow up because of something on the road. But busses like this one should get their tires replaced every so many months/years.

  • I do think that the tires and engine should be checked, but even when they are accidents like this could still happen. This is a really sad incident where it was really just a blown tire and it could happen to any of us. The fact that so many people were injured and died is tragic, but honestly I don't think they could have done anything to change the outcome.

  • Yes, I think buses should have their tires, and engine checked before any departure just to save the lives that may be lost in case of another crucial crash.

  • I think that they should make buses be checked because even though I think this could of been an accident, I also think it could have been prevented.  It's sad that something like this has to happen to catch somebody's attention, but it's also a wake up call for us.

    • Your right it is a wake up call. Because that stuff rarely every happens so we never expect it. Its to bad this is what it took for us to realize that we need to take more caution on this kind of stuff.

      • Do you think they are going to make it a requirement to have buses be checked, or do you think that they'll just try to make things more careful?
