7th Grader Suspended!

When I read this story I think it was pretty dumb. A 12 year old got suspended for apparently touching her teacher inappropriately. The 12 year old was stretching and the teacher stopped behind her and the 12 year old accidently touched her teacher, who is also a lady. The consequence is a suspension for 180 days.

So now if you stretch and accidently touch your teacher you get suspended for 180 days? What are your thoughts? Who do you think is at fault? The teacher for stopping right behind the 12 year old? or the 12 year old for stretching?

woow .. Thats really stupid... and a 180 days? thats a little overboard.. maybe the teacher should be like suspended er something since it was her fault.

180 days!?? first off getting suspended for that is soooo stupid. and to make it 180 days is even worse! Maybe one would be okay.. but 180?! jeeze....

Thats really stupid! The teacher needs to get her head out of her behind.
And im guessing the teacher wanted to make a scene. I would so be pissed if my child got suspened for the dumbest thing.

I think that it was a complete accident....i don't believe that it was the girl's fault if she accidentally touched the teacher in the wrong place...that's just unfair!

I dont think that is right at all! I think the girl was just just stretching when her teacher walked by. I dont think the girl should be punished at all! The teacher is overreacting about the whole thing. Maybe if it happened before she should do something about it but it was the first time is was probably an accident.

i would have to say she probably would have to of done a little more than just stetching to get suspended like that but still it's a girl unless that girl likes girls there shouldn't even be a discussion over suspension

I think that the teacher is to blame for this predicament. All the kid was doing was stretching and the teacher just went up behind the kid and stopped it. It isn't the kids fault because he didn't know that she was behind him. As far as the suspension goes 180 days is an over reaction. I think that the kid should be suspended but not for 180 days I would say more like 2-3 weeks.

That is pretty dumb is was kind of the teachers fault because she stopped behind her while the girl was strecthing. 180 days really.

I don't think either are at fault. It just happened to be she stopped and she stretched. A whole year though is a little rash. Someone better do something for the girl to finish school and for the girl to start the next year.

i think this is really dumb, im pretty sure the kid didnt mean to touch his teather inappropriately if he was stretching. and i feel like the kid shouldnt be suspensed for 180 days, that is a little much
