I can't believe that it has been eight years already since the 9/11 attack. They are now saying that it all could have been prevented so that really makes me feel pretty sad that it could have all been avoided.
I was in 1st grade when this happened. I remember the teachers all went to the library to watch what was happening, and when they came back some of them were crying, but they wouldn't tell us anything...
Every year there are TV specials about individual stories about 9-11; someone who survived, someone who saw it happen, someone who lost a loved one in it, someone whose life was nearly ruined because of it.
I think it's all really sad....but if it hadn't happened, our generation wouldn't have as good of an idea about patriotism as we do. Even so, all the people that died....I know their family members and friends must have gone through a lot of pain and sorrow. It's not a very fun thing, having someone you love die so suddenly.
I think it would have been horrible to be in or by the twim towers when this happened. I can't remember the day that it happened since it was so long ago and I was so young. They didn't tell us about 9/11 in school becasue they were afraid that all of us little kids would freak out. And if they told us that day I'm pretty sure it would have scared me. It would really suck to have someone in your family that died that day.
I think that this was the saddest day ever. I remember watching it on tv when i was in first grade. I didn't quite understand the damage then but i knew it was really bad. When i first came home my mom was watching tv crying. I can't imagine losing my relatives from a terrorist attack. Thats a bad way to go.
I actually had two second cousins that were off duty fireman in New York and were called to the scene on 9-11. If they would have been there just a few minutes earlier they would've die. One of their best friends was in one of the buildings when it collapsed, and I can't imagine how that felt for them.
9/11 was a terrible day not only for the United States of America, but for the world. People everywhere became affects by that attack, and the results of those madmen's actions are a costly and sacrificial war around the world. However, we can't dwell on that point in time. We need to hold our heads high, look forward, and strive to never allow such a tragedy to befall us again. And if it does, the full wrath of America will come crashing down on our enemies like with the force of a bludgeon.
It didn't really effect me at the time because I was only in kindergarten. But looking back on this I feel bad for not reminicing before. If this would of happened to my family I would have been heartbroken on many levels. I still have sympathy for the families who did go through this. My prayers are to them.
