On October 30- November 2 there will be 6,000 prison inmates released to the outside world. The Justice Department will release 6,000 prison inmates in order to reduce over crowding also to let out the inmates that abused drugs that had harsh sentences such as a 3 decade sentence. A 3rd of them are illiagal imagrates or "non citizens". They will be turned over to Immigration Custom Enforcement officials to deport them according to the Justice Department. The commission’s action is separate from an effort by President Obama to grant clemency to certain nonviolent drug offenders, an initiative that has resulted in the early release of 89 inmates. The panal estimated that the changes in sentencing guidelines eventually there could possibly result in 46,000 of the nations 100,000 drug abusers in federal prison but qualifying for early release.

My opinion- I think its a good idea because yes all of those people in one prison will get very crowded and vilant and the people that abused drugs that get a 30 year sentence that is just to much. With the deportation, I think that is a perfect thing for them because if they are illiagal they should be deported right as someone finds out they are there.

Well done Aubree! Be sure to hyperlink your sources correctly next time.
I think that most drug sentences are charged to long, in my opinion you shouldn't have to go to jail for 30 years over drugs. I think that if they are releasing the 6000 people and some of them are "immigrants", as long as they all get equally "dealt" with, then it should not matter. I think that the "immigrants" should be given a second chance to be able to live in America.
well I guess they would all be released at some point and time and There would be alot more people in this world that use drugs and hae criminal records which they would not be able to get a job then we would have to pay for them to live. Yes, im not racist but they went to jail so they can go back to where they came from i bet they would not mind not being where they came from instead sitting in jail.
They should be sent back to their country, but I don't exactly know why they would release so many at one time.
I agree that the illegal immigrants should go back to their country. but i dont think it was the smartest thing to do when releasing 6000 inmates.
I'm not really sure what I think about. I do agree that the illegal immigrants should go back to their own country. I'm glad the other people aren't in prison anymore, i just hope that they are being a positive person and not a negative person towards other people
I think that the 6,000 people being released to the outside world is a bad thing because they could cause harm to other people. They should just be transfered over to another prison. And yes, if the immigrants are illegal, I think that they should be deported.
I agree and disagree with it, because they give people with drug charges way too much prison time. Like what about the people who actually kill people, or rape people. They are who actually need prison time or death sentences. I think they should, because obviously those people aren't contributing anything good to our country.
If they are illegal immigrants they shouldn't be put in the prisons in the first place they should just deport them over and put them back where they belong. The drug abusers that are in prison are probably there for a reason! if they have 30 year sentences there's probably a reason! I think they will just go back to using drugs.. I mean how do you choose who to take out and who to keep in? I think the people living in these cities where they are getting released are going to loose the feeling of security.
I agree with you on the illigal imagrats but the drug users that are getting released if they do drugs again on there parol then they go back to prison for a longer period of time. Some may do that but not all I think some of them learned there lessons. If they dident thats there problem they are the ones that have to go back to jail for the rest of there life.
