5 Year Old Saves Sister and Dog From Fire

Noah woods, a 5 year old Georgia boy woke up in the middle of the night to see a fire in his bedroom caused by an overloaded ectrical outlet.  Howvever the young boy didn't panic. Noah quickly grabbed his 2 year old sister and departed from the only safe place, their bedroom window of which they shared. The boy ran back into his home to resuce their family dog. After this he woke up his uncle, who lived next door. They then together woke up the other 6 members of his family. Everyone survided the fire. “We’ve seen children alert their families before,” Bartow County Fire Department Chief Dwayne Jamison told CNN. “But for a five-year-old to be alert enough to do this … That’s pretty extraordinary.” Noah will be recognized as an honorary Bartow County firefighter, and will also be rewarded with an award for saving the families lives. "A GoFundMe was started by grandfather David Woods to help the family get back on their feet."

Do you think his age played a big part in the heroism that he displayed?

I think so because most kids that young I feel don't have quick reactions and know the right decisions to make in a quick incident.

If you were in Noah's situation, would you take the risk to go back in for a pet before informing someone for help?

I don't know excactly what I would do, however I think it would've been safer to inform someone before making that choice, because in a quick instant, that could have become much worse much faster.
