An Atlanta Georgia public school teacher has recently been fired. She was accused for taping a 5 year old boy’s mouth shut, who also has asthma.
The little boy, Noah, was standing in line in the hallway when one of the girls budged in front of him. Noah being only 5 was upset, but when he tried to tell his teacher she instead put tape over his mouth. When nap time rolled around, Noah still had the tape on his mouth, which meant if he were to have an asthma attack he would have died.
While Noah was interviewed by CBS46, an Atlanta news channel, he told them, “She put tape on my mouth and let me go to sleep with it. Then she put cream on my mouth so she could take it off. Then I had a mark on my lip.”
His mother Krystle Terry-Cox told a CBS46 reporter that Noah has not wanted to go back to school since the incident happened. She was frustrated knowing that she was not there to protect her son. She later went on to say, “I know I’m going to have to get an attorney. Something’s going to happen. I’m not going to let it just pass.”
----QUESTIONS----
Do you feel like the teacher taping Noah’s mouth shut was a big deal? Why/why not?
What do you think should have happened to the teacher for doing this?
How would you feel as Noah’s mother?
My opinion: I feel like part of the story is not being told, because you would have to be pretty dumb to tape a students mouth shut and leave it on for so long.

Again, great job!!
Yes, because you can't just tape a young child's mouth for shut for no apparent reason. I think she should be fired immediately and taken to court. I would feel very angry with the teacher that taped my son's mouth shut. Especially if he has asthma then I would be even angrier.
I think it's a big deal, not even because he had asthma. That's wrong to do to anyone. I think there should be charges put on the teacher. As her mother, I would be doing the same thing she is.
Yes its kind of a big deal, he could have died.. I think she should be fired from her job you shouldn't touch kids in this way and hes only five. I would probably be homeschooling If this was an issue. I guess you cant trust anyone these days.
Yes it is a huge deal because what if he had happened to have an asthma attack. He would have died. The teacher should have been suspended for a very long time or fired like she was. If I was Noah's mother I would do anything to make the teacher pay for what she did.
I agree, I think its a good think she was fired but I hope she learns her lesson. I would do the same as Noah's mother.
What the teacher did was wrong, and it was a big deal. He is only five-it's a good thing the teacher was fired. I don't think she should be able to teach again. If I were a parent in that situation, I would take more precaution into where my kid is going to school at.
I agree, and I also think our parents should be more aware of some of the teachers at our schools.
I agree, either Noah was a very distruptive child, or the teacher is crazy. I am also glad she got fired, but I hope this stops her from doing other things like this.
Yes because it's not the right thing to do especially for a teacher it make her look like a bad teacher and have kids be scared to go back cause she might do it to her. I would have just gone and deal with the problem and just let them get back in line. I would be mad and press charges for doing that and almost killing the kid.
