Thursday a four year old girl from Detroit found a loaded rifle under a bed and pulled the trigger on her Four year old cousin. The accident happened on Thursday afternoon. Two children were playing in a bedroom and found the rifle loaded and not in a case. The article stated one man (the Grandfather) was in the house not knowing what the children were doing. The boy was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. No files were charged. The police officer that investigated is now talking about gun safety and leaving guns unloaded. Whoever left the rifle loaded obviously wasn't a person that made a right choice on their his/her gun safety.
How do you think the family felt when they found out about this? What would you do if you were the parents of the shot boy?

Good job once again! Be sure to include your thoughts as well next time.
I think the family was very sad and devastated. Be very upset with the grandpa and the owner of the rifle. I would be upset with the grandpa for not watching the kids and the owner for not having unloaded and or put in a case.
wow thats really sad. i cant imagine how their families must be feeling. if you have small children in your home you need to keep gun or stuff like that locked up. and out of their reach.
This is really sad. If the parents would have stored the gun correctly, they could have avoided the whole incident. But they had to learn their lesson the hard way, with a child now gone. I would hate to think how the little girl feels. She is probably in a lot of shock right now and will be emotionally scarred.
Yes I hope the little girl goes through life not feeling the pain of it, but she will always remember.
Leaving a gun loaded with little children around is a very bad decision as it obviously cost someone there life. I understand little kids not knowing what to do with a loaded gun and somebody pulling the trigger on accident. The family would be hurt, but probably also supportive of the cousin that killed the other kid, because it would be hard for all to go through.
For one if you are going to have a gun of any kind in your house, have it in a case, unloaded and not were children or teens can get to it. I'm sure that the family was devasted when they heard about what happened. But why would the person let two little kids in a room with a gun underneath the bed, loaded, were they can easily find it.
This is very sad. I think they didnt mean too, their four. Everyone should be smart enough not to lay a gun around, especially loaded.
Who ever puts a loaded rifle under there bed should probably be put in a mental institute as it is, but aside from that, the accident wouldn't have happened if the grandfather was keeping a closer eye on them. If the kids and the grandfather were all in the same room, watching a movie or something, everything would have gone over smoothly.
True, but hey accidents happen.
