On Saturday, Jason Carter had his first play in college football and ran for 1 yard... The thing is he's only 4 foot 9. He was born with a genetic disorder that left him significantly shorter than everyone else and lighter as well. During the game against UTEP, Rice was up 45-7, and in the final quarter Jason Carter got his chance to play Division I football after 3 years on the scout team.

I think it was nice of the coaches to allow Jason to finally achieve his dream. What do you think?... Do you think he should be allowed to play more in other games where it's a blowout? Do you think it is too dangerous for him to play against players over a foot taller than him?

  • Great story and good job!

  •  I replied some topics, then i found it was closed...Cool,no wonder mr. bruns is a coach(does something cool~)

  • For the record, Jason Carter did not play in a college football game.  Jason Carter is an English actor who was born in London and raised in Gainsborough. I think the person you are talking about it Jayson Carter with a y. I think it's great that they let him play, it may be dangerous, but he got to a D1 program somehow. So he must be able to compete with most of the players even if they are a foot taller than him.

  • I love football so this is an awesome story! I don't know if it's safe though, if he's only 4 ft 9in, so of those football players are over 6ft tall! He could get injured if one of them were to tackle him. But if he wants to, I think he should be allowed to play in blow outs like this one. He seems like a good player and the coaches said he works every day in practice. I say give him a chance. You never know.

  • It is great that they let him play. I think it is really dangerous to face all those big players, but its good he got a chance to play.

  • It all depends on how good he is. If he's good enough to play then he should be able to play more but if he isn't doing anything for the team then he shouldn't be able to play as much. He could get hurt pretty easily though since he's going up against such big guys.

  • I'm glad that the coaches let Jason play. I think he should be able to play if it's a blowout, but I don't think he should play to much because he could get hurt easier than the rest of the team.

    • I agree.. he should be allowed to play towards the end of a blowout game...

  • Yeah, I think it was great for the coaches to let him play knowing that he is smaller than everyone else and also thinking that he may not even get to step foot on the field. If I were him, I would have been very thankful for letting the coaches let me play college football and to even let me touch the ball.

    • I agree... it was nice of the coaches to let him play...even if it was only for a moment
