Nora was born with congenital heart defects and needs open heart surgery. after all the surgery, stay at the hospital, chest x-rays, echocardiograms, blood gas tests, ivs and medications all this costs $428,903. Lucky they had insurance. 1 out of 100 babies are born this way. She is now a happy 5 month year old baby. " I’d do anything and pay anything for the health and safety of my child. If that means paying half a million dollars for her to have a healthy, beating heart, I’d do it. How? I’m grateful for my employer-sponsored health care coverage."
I am so happy that Nora is happy and has survived. I really can't imagine what life would be like if someone like that didn't have that kind of money to pay for medical bills like that. At least she had insurance other wise this would be a terrible to pay all that.

Wow, that's awesome Nora survived, but I doubt the insurance company liked paying for it too much.
That is good that she survived. It is crazy how much medical expenses are. One bad injury could ruin someones financial life. Insurance is a truly amazing thing.

This is grat news that she survived!! her parents are smart, and good parents. Some parents probably wouldn't even have the money!
Well that is quite a bit of money..but things these days do cost a lot especially all the things they did to the baby. Im glad the baby survived though!

This is really neat! I have seen a heart transplant being carried out. They would not take the little boy into surgery until they found a heart that would work. It was really neat, but a little disturbing to watch. I think that it is also great that the employer covered the health care. It's amazing what people will do for others, but on the flip side, it's amazing what people won't do for others.
It is absolutely amazing what surgeons can do, this is why I want to go into medicine! I hope she lives a healthy and normal life. It would be so scary as parents to have to go through that.
I'm glad the baby survived. I think any parent would be willing to pay the money if it was to save their child's life.
