On Thursday April 7th, 3 men were rescued from a remote island. The 3 men were sailing through two Micronesian islands when something went wrong with their sailboat. Coast guards saw their makeshift "HELP" made out of palm trees in the sand. Immediately they searched the waters around the island and then the island itself. The 3 men were supposed to be catching a flight on Monday but when they never showed the family reported it to the coast guard. After they were spotted the coast guards took them to a nearby island for medical help.
1. If this were to happen to you, what would you do to get help?
2. Would you try and adventure the island for food or other helpful things or would you just stay put? Why or why not?

I would also build a big "HELP" sign in the sand. I would hope that I had flairs and so then I could send a flair off when I see a boat go by the island. I would stay put. I would only venture a few feet into the island, but I would keep the beach insight.
I would have made a big fire so if anyone flew by they would see it and come get me. I would probably adventure out a little because who knows what could be on the island, but I wouldn't want to go to far in to it though because I would want to get lost.
Make a huge SOS of HELP clear enough and big enough to be seen from the sky and the land. Look for things that would be beneficial to surviving because it is always worth it when trying to look for food and water and shelter if you where force to stay there for more than a while.
I would have written help in the sand and have a big smokey fire going the whole time. I would go deeper into the island to find food, and drinkable water. I don't know how long I will be trapped on the island, so I think that I should find resources while I still have a lot of my strength left.
I would try to do what they did because there isn't much you could do. Finding other helpful things would be useful, but I wouldn't wander far from where I was originally at.
I think I would do the exact same thing they did because it's about the only thing you can do. I think I would try to find resources, but that depends on how big the island is and the fact that I wouldn't want to be separated from my group. I would search in a group, but not alone.
I would just try to do something that is obvious and that people would notice. I would try and stay put because nobody knows what is happening where they aren't.
Like in the movies I would right out S.O.S or HELP in the sand then light something on fire so its more visible to see from the air, If I was there more than a day I woul go off and start looking for food and building a campfire to stay warm throughout the night. Water, food and shelter are the only things you need if you get stranded on an island by yourslef.
I would write SOS/HELP in the sand and also have a fire going all day. I would definitely venture the island for food, water sources, and fire wood. Because you don't know how long you will be there until help arrives. So you need all those things just in case it will be a while.
