26 died after church shooting

Devin Patrick Kelley had previously attended the small Texas church where he killed 26 people over the weekend but he was not welcomed there, Wilson County Sheriff Joe Tackitt told CNN Tuesday. The pastor of First Baptist Church, Frank Pomeroy, knew Kelley from his attendance at church events, according to Tackitt. The pastor wanted him out. There were no threats but Pomeroy told authorities Kelley "was not a good person to be around."  "He did not think that he was a good person and did not want him around his church," Tackitt said of the pastor. "But he said, 'How do I run him away from my church?'"

On Sunday, Kelley reappeared at the church. This time, he was armed with an assault rifle, 15 loaded magazines and an obsession with a family dispute. When he was done shooting he ended up driving away causing a police chase to end up with him shooting him self
Q1. How do you think we can stop all these shooting?
Q2. Now with all these shooting how do you think things will change?
A1. I think there is not a lot because some say that it was a terrorist attack others say it was a mental problem with the shooter so there is not much we can do.
A2. Well there might be more testing to see people who are more likely to do this due to mental illnesses and maybe stricter gun laws

  • Good summary but be sure to capitalize words in your title. You also didn't reply to any student comments which is worth 20 points. -5 late

  • I think that they will probably put gun restriction laws in effect which will cause an even larger up roar from the every day person and will just lead to the bad people getting guns illegally.

  • I do not know how we can stop shootings like this. I feel like no matter what precautions that we take people will still find a way around them like they do everything else.

  • I think that more gun control is a necessity to stop these mass shootings. Also, checking bags and more thorough checks of the people could help. I think that first something needs to be put into place to help with these shootings and then maybe something could change.

  • We could do bag checks and do them more thoroughly. I think things will possibly change depending on how many shootings happen in the US. If there comes a point to where there are just too many shooters shooting and killing innocent people, then, yes, I think there will be a change.

  • We could watch people better. Check people's bags to make sure their not taking anything that could harm someone. People will become more protective of their family's. They will be afraid to leave home.

  • We can try to enforce stronger gun laws and have more protection but even trying to bring in stronger laws wont stop all the gun violence.  I think now they will have better background checks on people and not allow people who have mental problems get guns.

  • I am not sure how we will stop the shootings, even if the law makes gun changes, people will still have the guns that they have now. I think that we will start to get rid of weapons that have can create an automatic rifle. But, if people are going to do things like this, taking away guns is not going to stop them.

  • I think that he was just loosing a mental battle so there is really not much that you can do. I don't really think that things will change, because if they make assault rifles illegal, then the bad people will find other ways to get them.

  • I dont think there is a way to stop these shootings fully. I think that if the government makes stricter gun laws It wont do much there are ways to get gun illegally and if they dont get the guns they will always find a way to do harm to others.
