A British adventure angler achieved a lifelong ambition when he landed a 250 pounder in South America..............using piranha as bait. Steve Townson landed the wild arapaima, which is the world's largest scaled freshwater fish. "The Arapaima is one of the world's biggest and mightiest freshwater fish and to catch them in the wild is a rare privilege," he said. Although they couldn't keep the sucker due to a strict catch and release policy he still beamed a great and kind of creepy smile.
I'm glad that he achieved a lifelong goal, and that 'fish' looks more like an overgrown watersnake.

That is an average catch. Back in the day of like 25000 B.C a baby fish was that size. So nice catch. I never caught a good fish so Congrats from because I can't fish.

WOW!!!! no way would i ever. EVER!! even wanna try to catch a fish that big or even go out into that body of freshwater! fish scare me! i can catch the little baby ones and be fine. anything more then that. Nuh uh! not happening!!
Wow! Good for that guy! I don't really fish but I'm sure this was fantastic for him. I am happy that he released it though :)
I would love to catch this fish it would be soo awesome to have said that I caught that. It must have taken him hours to reel it in with a fish that size.
