2016 Nominees Twitter Followers?

With the 2016 presidential campaign well underway, it's worth examining how each of the possible 2016 candidates stack up against each other on Twitter.

There are more than 284 million monthly active users on Twitter and 500 million tweets sent per day, making it an integral platform for engaging conversation with potential voters.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who had a belated arrival to the platform in June 2013, amassed 100,000 followers almost instantly.

While her more recent tweets have been to promote book events and speaking engagements, she did use the platform to condemn republicans and weigh in on financial reform:

The only reason I believe she has more followers is because she's been in the white house for years. She's always been publicly noticed. News flash, just because she knows a guy who knows a guy, doesn't mean she knows jack spit. She Is about as educated on running a country as a goat is to driving a car. She is not only a liar, but a cheat. She screwed the country over multiple time. look it up.

Why do you think Hillary has more followers?

  • Good topic and I can tell you put effort into it. I do think you could have come up with another question to invite more feedback but well done!

  • Because she's always been publicly noticed, like you said. The "popularity" agenda takes its place here with her and the election. She has always been apart of the White House and being the one to "stand out" in the crowd with the citizens of the United States.

  • She is a widely recognized woman who has been involved in politics for quite a while. I would suspect that a majority of her followers are women because if elected, she will be the first woman to be president, and many women want this to happen. I'm sure that a lot of people who are republican follow her on Twitter also.

    • First of all, the country doesn't need another "different" as you can tell with our so called president in the white house. It doesn't have anything to do with "different" we need someone who knows what the hell their doing. The only reason Obama won, is because all of the black people, Mexicans, and woman "and because he is a good speaker." The one of the biggest reasons he won is because people wanted One of "their" people in the house. Obama has no business background whatsoever. He is the first president who doesn't have any. This is the biggest reason why our country is in insane debt. He makes jobs for people, yes. But he does so by creating bullcrap business's that do nothing but cost money to our country. Or otherwise put, WE pay for those business's. He Just puts us deeper and deeper into a never-ending cycle of debt. He hands out money like its candy.

Now im not saying she will do the same. Her husband was a very good president. But people should not vote for someone because its a "girl" or he's "Black".  The country will not get anything done by Putting people into the house, that have no business being there.  VOTE FOR THE BEST PERSON FOR THE JOB. Not just different.
