A couple living in Australia signed for a delivery of 20 kg of methamphetamine, which was accidentally shipped to their house. The package was worth 10 million Australian dollars. After the couple had opened the package and saw the white substance they called the police who then told them it was meth. They were confused as to why it was delivered to their house and asked each other if they had ordered anything. Once the detectives found out who had ordered the illegal drug they went to a nearby address finding a 21-year-old man that was then arrested. When they arrested him they also found another 20 kg of meth.  The police say is was a very good thing they found it all. They took 800,000 hits off the street by finding all of the drug.

What would you do if a package of meth was delivered to your house?

Why do you think the man accidently sent it to the wrong address?

  • Well done overall Julia! Be sure to include personal thoughts within your summary.

  • I would do what most other people would do and contact the authorities because its taking a lot of drugs off the streets and not hurting people. The man might not have had it sent to the wrong house and the delivery person just took it to the wrong house or the guy was just high when he ordered it.

  • Like many others, I would contact the authorities and inform them about the situation, and then they could take the situation from there. If we obviously infer that the 21-year-old was on meth or something else, he was probably just out of it and wasn't really paying attention.

  • I would do the right thing and turn it into the police station. The man that accidently sent it to the wrong address probably just did not know it was the wrong address, or they may have thought that they could just pick it up before the couple found it.

  • I would tell my family so they know where it came from and take it to the closest police station and let them deal with it. I think maby he got the wrong andress or maby wasent paying attention and wrote down the wrong one

  • I would be super confused and frightened if a package of meth, especially of this size, was delivered to my house. I would probably call the police just like this couple did. The intended recipient of this package, a 21-year old man, obviously didn't mean to mess up his delivery. My guess if that he was high or not able to think straight which caused him to make a mistake.

    • I agree. I would be very confused and worried about why it was at my house. I would also call the police once I realized that it was an illegal drug. I also think he might have been high and not really knowing what he was doing.

  • I would have done the same thing that this couple did. I would call and inform the police right away so that it wasn't in my poosession. I probably wouldn't know what it even was at first, which is another reason why asking the police would be beneficial. I don't think the man ordering it would have purposely sent the package to the wrong house. Either he put his address in wrong when ordering it, or the writing wasn't legible for the delivery man to read it.

  • I think that having this package delivered to your house would be very surprising. I would definetly call the cops so that way the cops knew that you weren't involved in the drugs. I think the man shipping this package could have accidently sent it to the wrong address cause he was on drugs, or he was mad at his customer and got him in trouble.

    • I agree with you. I would also call the police and explain it was not mine because I would be scared of getting caught and going to jail. There could be many reason as to why it was sent to the wrong address and it is good they found it and got it off the streets.
