In October of 2018 , a 2 year old died from a pumpkin patch after being launched from a bouce pad from 40 yards. It's been a year since Caleb Acuña Agualimpia, the 2 year old, had died and the family have begun filing for a lawsuit against the owners of JK's Pumpkin Patch (The Pumpkin patch where the 2 year old died). The owners said prior to the October 3 event, JK's Pumpkin patch used minimal stakes or attachments to attempt to secure the bound pad to the ground.
In the lawsuit, it said the owners did not cancel or postpone the event in a wind advisory. Adding that on the day of the event, the National Weather Service issued a wind advisory warning of wind gusts of up to 60 mph. The complaint goes on to say that, despite the warning, the business did not take action to further secure the bounce pad and took no action to close the attraction.
Now, what is your opinion about the owners desicion not to cancel the event due to the wind advisory?
For me, I would've though they could've close certian places in it so that business could continue.
What do you think the best option for the family is?

I think the pumpkin patch should've closed down since there was a wind advisory. Wind can be a serious issue and that can effect many rides at amusment parks or anything in the air. I would not be suprised that the family was very mad about the incindent since their child was killed. I think something shouldl be done since the child died.
I believe that they should've been smarter in going to the pumkin patch on the windy day. Also, letting their child go on the bounce pad was a bad idea if they knew the weather wasn't permitting. However, I don't believe they'll be able to sue the pumkin patch. So, I think their out of luck.
I believe maybe it would've been a smart decision for the owners of the pumpkin patch to close the pumpkin patch. However, the family should've been a little bit smarter in weather or not they should've gone if it was such a windy day. Also, if they knew the bounce pad wasn't very well structured why did they let their child use it.
I think that it wasnt a good idea to keep the bounce pad open still in a wind advisory with gusts up to 60mph and it is also not all JK pumpkin patches fault, because they let their child go on the pad in the wheather like that. Probably to keep doing what they are doing and keep going at it becuase that is their best bet to win the law suit.
I think that they could have shut down some rides and stuff, however, it's also the parents job to decide if it's a good idea for their kid to do go on a ride in those conditions. I think that the family has a right to sue them but it shouldn't be excesive.
I think that if the wind gusts pick up around 50, I would probably close most of the rides or outside activities. But I would still keep open the concession stands and a corn maze. I think the family is going in the right path and they need to file a law suit towards this pumpkin patch.
I think they should have closed the entire Pumpkin Patch that whole day because of the 60 mile per hour winds and not wanting to get kids a sickness from the cold. I think they should have to see what happens with the lawsuit then just go with their live and try to forget this terrible accient.
Maybe instead of not closing the whole thing. Maybe just close the bounce pad instead of the whole event, because at the end of the day, they're a business looking to make money. I think that the family should receive tons of money for the death of their two year old.
I don't really have a opinion, I'm just surprised of how a child died in the pumpkin patch. I have no idea to be honest.
