2 Police Officers "Mess Around" Until One Gets Shot

Some people may have heard of Russian Roulette. A deadly game where there is only a single bullet in the barrel and you take turns shooting each other. Well, while officer Hendren was on duty, he was looking at many different guns with 2 of his fellow officers. One of those officers was Officer Alix. As they were playing with these guns, the third officer(Hendrens Partner) told them to stop and left after they didn't. Right before he left, Officer Hendren pulled out a revolver and emptied out every bullet except for one. He took the gun, spun the barrel, shot it AWAY from Officer Alix, and all with no shot being heard. Officer Alix took the gun and repeated these steps, but this time pointing it at Officer Hendren. Nothing was shot again until Hendren pointed the gun at Officer Alix. As Officer Hendren pulled the trigger, a shot was heard. It hit Officer Alix in the chest. I found out that officer Alix did die, but the fact that they even did it to begin with is unreal. It is said that Hendren was on duty when it happened, and Alix was off duty. The third officer came back after he heard the shot, but the story stops there. To read the whole story, click here.

Questions -

     1.  What do you think made them want to even play a game like the Russian Roulette?

                   - I have no idea why anyone would even want to play it. It makes no sense to me why they would even play with guns like that, on or off duty.

     2.  What do you think was the Third Officers reaction to the scene when he came back?

                   - If I were the third officer/Hardings Partner, I would be scared. I don't think I would react that fast or trust my own partner after that, especially after telling them to stop.

  • I think your questions could be stronger. The answer you gave to the fist question says it all. Also, you only replied 3 times when you should have replied around 18 times.

  • I don't know why people would play something so stupid like that, especially because involves guns and they can get hurt; what one of them did, actually died. Well, if I was him I would be terrified because everything started as a prank, and it turned to something drastic.

  • I don't understand why anyone would even think about playing such a fatal and dangerous game like this, they are police officers and wether they were on duty or not they shouldn't have been doing such things like that. I would be so lost in my words if I came up to something like that, I wouldn't know what to do.

  • I don't know what would make anyone want to play a game like Russian Roulette. Maybe they just wanted to have an adrenaline rush. I think the third officer would have probably freaked out and scared. I wouldn't know if someone killed them or why they did it.

  • I don't know why they would do this, but they probably thought it was just all fun and games and that chances of them being shot were slim to none, but they should've been smarter than that. I would be shocked and very scared, but I would act quickly and calmly to make sure that there was a chance for Officer Alix.

  • I am not sure exactly why they would play the game because being two active cops they should be smart enough to know that they shouldn't play that, but maybe they were just super bored. Even then I don't think it was a good idea. I feel like he would have been shocked and tried to help Alix and then kind of had an I told you so kind of attitude because he told them not to play but they didn't listen and played anyway, and it ended in a death.

  • 1.) I think they wanted to do something like this for one because they had nothing to do, also becasue there could have ben people around and they wanted to seem like they were cool cops and aren't always stirct people.

2.) My thoughts on him would have been "what the heck did my partners do", i also think that he would stop for and think for a second on what to do. Then i would make sure they were ok.

  • This just makes absolutely no sense, why would you ever want to play russian roulette, especially being police officers. There's just no point, they must've been very bored or something. If I were the officer who left I would be shocked and scared, and also confused.

  • Im an simply dumbfounded by the fact that officers of the law, who have exstensive firearm training, would participate in a activity of this type. All my life I have been dealing with firearms and have learned to handle them with extreme care due to the damage they can imflict. If I was the third officer I would have immideately put a stop to the activity and reported it to my superiors.

    • I do not think that they should have been pointing the weapons at any part of there bodies let alone playing the game in the first place. Guns are not toys they are tools with great potential to do harm if not handled in the proper way. This is why guns get a bad rap its not the guns that do the damage but the individuals that mistreat them.
