Two football players were kicked off their local high school football team in Texas for protesting during the national anthem. The players were warned before hand that by protesting in any form or not acting in a respectful manner that they could face suspension or playing time could be lost. According to the boys they were protesting due to a tweet they saw from president trump that referred to the people kneeling during the anthem. The boys raised their fists during the anthem. The coach a former marine was immediately infuriated by the actions of the two boys and were kicked off his football team.

Do you think what the coach did was right?
I think he needs to be aware of the real reason of why people all over the country are protesting it has nothing to do with the military. It is a form of protest towards the corruption happening everyday to thousands of people. I personally think people have the rights as Americans and have the right to practice them in any form within reason. I think if you don't support it then don't bash people and if you do, do what you believe in.
If these were your sons how would you react?
I would tell them that they have rights, but they need to understand that people are not going to agree and they are going to face consequences for their action. I also would support or help them in any way.

Well done Alicia! I would like to see you go in and reply three different days.
In America, we're encouraged to express our freedoms, one of which is freedom of speech. I think that kneeling during the National Anthem is disrespectful to America, but the boys are expressing their speech. If they were my sons, I would be mad that they chose to address the issue at a football game and get kicked off, but I would praise them for standing up for what they believe.
Yes, the coach was a former marine and should have a lot of respect for the national anthem, so when the two kids disobeyed him they disrespected both the coach and the nation. I would be mad at them and tell them they are disrespecting more than Trump, they are disrespecting all the men and women who fight to keep them free.
I think what this coach did was complete right and ok because people need to respect the flag it's your country and you should treat it right. If these boys were my sons I would be very mad and tell them that when you kneel or protest the anthem you are hurting everyone even people you love.
I think he needs to see the real reason of why his players were doing that. It's been happening all over and it does not necessarily mean they are disrespecting the flag. I would tell my kids that they have the right to kneel and protest against what they want but not to do anything disrespectful.
I completely agree with, and think you make a very good point how would react if your son would have acted in a disrespectful manner that could possibly ruin their reputaion? what do you considered disrespectful ?
I think the coach didn't do the exact right thing. It is a free country. I don't see the huge problem between the whole thing, though. I know they are protesting, but I don't see the complete hate. If one of these boys were my son, I would tell him to believe what he believes.
I think he needs to be more aware of why athletes are kneeling down and locking arms and protesting during the National Anthem. It's not that they are disrespecting the flag or the people that serve to protect that flag, but it's because of the corruption towards African-Americans during these past few years. I would want to know why they are kneeling and understand them. I would also tell them that they can believe what they choose to. Everyone should have the right to express their feelings through peaceful protesting and not just going out and rioting and looting.
Do you think that if the coach weren't a former marine that it would have changed the out come of the situation so he wouldn't be as harsh on them because he has nothing to do with the millitary? or would you think it would have stayed the same?
I do think that what the coach did was right. I understand that these children have a different ancestry then us but they still need to respect the fact that the people are fighting to keep everyone in the United States safe. I don't think that the boys handled it in the right way, they could have simply sat down and did what they thought was right. I think the coach was also so upset because he was once a marine and fought to keep us safe. If these were my sons I would have been upset. No matter what race I was I would still want them to stand for the national anthem.
