Early Sunday morning around 6:30, a porsche launched into the air into the second floor of a building in New Jersey. The car was going at a very "high rate of speed." The driver of the 2010 Porsche Boxster convertible lost control and hit a center median and struck a ridge, sending it into the building. Victims of the crash were 22 year old Braden DeMartin and the passenger 23 year old Daniel Foley. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. It was stated that you could see skid marks across 4 lanes of traffic, towards the building.
Do you think the driver had any intention in driving into the house?
I find it odd that it went all the way to the second floor, however I beleive it was just an accident.
Should there be stricter laws for speeding and road violations?
I think there should be slightly harsher prosecutions for people who violate the laws. Just because events like this is a huge problem throughout the world.

One thing I tell students is to stay away from accident stories. They just don't lead to good discussion and questions. You only replied three times to students comments.
I think that this was an accident too, but they had to know the dangers of driving fast, and know the consequences of driving fast. I also think the laws of driving are fine as they are, but their should be more consequences for incidents like driving while under the influence.
I think that this was an accident too, but the had to know the dangers of driving fast, and know the consequences of driving fast. Unfortualntly, he received the worst of it all. I think that law enforcement needs to be more cautious, and keep a closer eye on people who have sports cars.
No, I think that no matter what the speed limit is some stupid idiot is going to go 20 over. I don't think that ticket prices should increase either because a lot of people can't afford to pay that much right now.
I do not think that he meant to drive into the house, let alone the 2nd floor. I do not think that he would have gotten anything out of crashing into a house, especially since it was almost going to assuredly cause their deaths.
I dought he planed on crashing a porche, he most likely lost control of the vehicle and ended up crashing. I dont think the laews need to be strickter because if no cops see the speeding vehicle then what can they do to stop it. in my opinion the cops just need to be more active and vigilent
1. - No, I don't think anyone would want to crash your car, especially if it was a Porsche. It could've been that the car ran over something and lost control, or the driver was under the influence of alcohal which is never good. In the end, it was sad that an incident like this took place.
2. - I think the laws of driving are fine as they are, but their should be more consequences for incidents like driving while under the influence, because not only can you get killed while driving drunk, but you can kill other whether they be in car with you or in another car. Things like that should be changed for safer roads.
I don't think he had any negative intentions, and I think it was an accident, but he should still be severly punished because he was speeding and killed 2 people. I think that they should have harsher punishments for speeding because going over the speed limit is very common and is an issue.
1.) No. If I owned a porsche, I wold never do this. This just seems like one of those weird acciedents that happen all the time. I believe that there is no way that this was on purpose. Even though the car went to the second floor, I still do not belive that this was on purpose.
2.) Well, there is really nothing that you can do about it. People (students) do it all the time in our town. It is their fault if anything happens to them. If they kill someone else, they go to jail for a long time. It is really something that you have to think about before you do it.
I think they were probably drunk or something and had no intentions of driving into a house. I think they should, but it wouldn't have really helped in this case because they people were dead at the scene. I think people will continue to speed even with harsher consequences especially if they are drunk or something.
