There are many world conspiracys out there today. But one that people keep coming back to the is the Apollo 11 Moon Landing in 1969. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed on the moon and planted an american flag into the moon. When people noticed small thing about the flag, conspiracys began to roll in. People would say "in the picture they could see that the flag appeared to be blowing in the wind, but there ins't anny wind in space". Another part was that you couldn't see any stars in the sky.
Rick Fienberg, a press officer for the American Astromical Society had an explanation for these theories. First about the flag (pictured below) he states that NASA sent special flags up with the men because if they used an ordinary flag it would just hang down, and it wouldn't creat a very appealing picture. The special flag had an horizontal rod in the top of the flag, allowing the flag to stay upright. Fineberg says the theorie about there being no stars was easy to explain. He states that "if you've ever used a camera before you would know that the surface was brightly alluminated from the sun, and the astronauts are wearing bright white space suits that are highly reflective."
Many people still don't believe that the moon landing was real and we will most likely alway have peoplw that won't believe it. Are they right? Who knows? Besides Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong.

Do you think the moon landing is real or fake? Me personally feels like the moon landing is real, I think it's to big of an event to fake.
If it was faked how do you think they were able to keep it a secret for all these years? If they were keeping it a secret I'm assuming that they paid off people that helped with the fake landing?

Good story choice and well done overall, Nick. I do think you could have expanded a bit more on the explanation of the conspiracy.
I think the moon landing was real, but it's interesting to read lots of people's conspiracy theories about it because it's such an unbelievably believable thing that could've happened. I think if they did fake it, they were able to keep this secret because the moon landing happened in a time with no internet. Sure, there was television, but that is nothing like going on Facebook or Twitter and seeing stories upon stories about an event that just occured.
I think the moon landing is real because it would be hard to fake something that made national news and almost everyone knows about. If it was fake they probably paid someone to take footage and crop somebody on what looks like a moon, but the picture above looks pretty real to me.
That is what I would think. If they somehow did fak it I bet they had to pay a lot of people and pay them all a lot of money to make it look real and to make sure people stayed quite if they knew that the landing was fake.
I think the moon landing footage is real. Everything people have pointed out to say it was fake was proven wrong, so I don't even know why people are still skeptical. Plus, if you were planning on faking something this extravagent, you'd think they though of all details and it'd probably look more real then the picture that's caused such confusion. Then again, would they need to hide it? We also have even more evidence in labortories and museums that we did actually make it to the moon in 1969.
I personally dont t think that the first landing on the moon was fake. Even if it was fake I dont really understand why they would lie about it because theres really nothing to hide. The only reason they would have lied would be to say the beat every other country to it. I agree that if it was fake they just would have paid the crew and everyone apart of the project to keep it quiet.
I dont think it was fake because as you said it is too big of an event to fake and would probally take more time to fake than it would to auctually fly to the moon. They wouldnt be able to keep it a secret so thats why it has to be real because it wouldnt be worth the money or time to fake it.
I agree. This would be an absurb amount of money to waste on "getting ahead" of the Soviet Union while we were in the midst of the Cold War. I also agree woth how long it had taken, it would be to long and like you said would not be worth it.
I think the moon landing was real, but I could see the United States faking just to say we beat the Soviet Union to the first man on the moon. I know we are able to get to the moon now for sure. It could have all just have been a stunt to say we won, but I believe it was real.
That was my thinking. The only real reason I could think of why the United Stated would "fake" the apollo 11 moon landing is because we would want an edge on the Soviet Union(USSR). But other than that I don't know why we would fake the landing.
