An Massachusetts women is facing some serious charges are the police discovered an variety of dead animals in her home. The police found dead lizards, pheasants, finches, a dog, and many hamsters in her 13 yrs old sons room. The cause of death to all these animals was lack of food and water. The policemen on duty described her house as filthy, cluttered, and full of feces. She was arrested the same day charged with child and also animal abuse.

Why do you think she did this ?
I think maybe she got them all as pets and realized it was too much but instead of doing the most responsible thing and finding new home for all of them she just let them die.
What do you think her punishment should be ?
I think at least a year in jail, because not only were animals put at harm, but also her son who was living in these conditions that aren't suitable for life.

I don't know why anyone would do that. People are crazy. I think she realized how much work animals are and stopped caring for them. It is sick to think about. Her house was already filthy so she probably didn't even know. I think she should have to pay some fines for the animal and child abuse.
She could have very easily forgot to feed her animals, as fault to mental and physical deterioration. But she could have also been providing lots of physical abuse towards these animals. I think she deserves up to 3 years in jail, because as you said she left her child in terrible conditions and abused the animals.
Would you ever think that this woman maybe has some metal problems that lead her to live in this environment? If you were a police offer on this case how would you feel about prosecuting this women possibly knowing there is something wrong with her as any sane person would be living like this.
I don't know if there is a specific reason why she did this, but I guess that she just doesn't have her life under control. If she really abused a child then she should be put to jail. But what I don't get at all is why it is okay to kill billions of animals every year to provide food that we could easily live without while no one does anything against it and no one cares, but then if it's a private person that keeps animals suddenly it becomes a crime. In my opinion that's just extremely absurd and unfair; and I can't understand it at all, and it makes me so angry!!
So you are saying that harvesting and slaughtering pigs or cows is the same as letting a dog or lizard rot to death in its own filth? Did you ever consider what the child felt living in these conditions with your mom? Do you think this woman could have some metal issues that lead her to do this>
1. I think this was an irresponsible mother. She had a child and decided to get all these pets for fun, but realized it wasn't something she wanted and left them to fend for themselves.
2. I think she should be charged for child and animal abuse. Punishments for these things vary depending on how bad the conditions are, but I think she should face some jail time.
1.In my opinion this woman is sick, she must have some disorder because a sane person does not behave or live like this.
2. A person who is psychologically sick I do not think she should be punished with jail because it is a problem in the head, in my opinion this woman should be in a psychiatric center.
Sounds like she is really responsible. I think that she probably just didn't care about what her kids were doing with these animals and that is why they are dead now. I think she should probably be fined a lot of money and banned from having pets in the future.
I think that her kid would find animals and take some of them in, but the dog and hamsters were bought and just let to die. I think that the punishment should either be a fine or a year or so in jail.
