18 year old girl was told she wouldn't live past 5

Katie Newell was diagnosed with a rare disease at 15 months of age. This condition causes tumours to grow on the upper half of her body. Doctors told her parents that she wouldn't be able to make it past 5. She now celebrates her 18th birthday!

    That's great that she is still alive and being able to live her life. Her family has to be really happy that she is still around to be with. I'm am sure she is probably helping medical research try and find a cure for the disease she has. Hopefully they find a cure for her so she doesn't have to live in fear.

    good for her! scary thinking the odds are against you but hopefully they find a cure for her soon!

    That's a good thing that she is getting to live her life. I hope they find a cure for her so she won't have to worry about it killing her. I bet everyone in her family is so happy that she is still around. :)

    sounds like my cousin Cody, but he has something else. He wasnt spose to live passed the age of 2 but be will be 22 in April. The people that beat the odds are the greatest.
