16 yr Old Survives Plane Crash-Dies

Investigators have just completed the investigation of the death of a 16 year old girl who has survived the Asiana Airlines crash in San Francisco, only to be run over by a fire truck. San Mateo County District Attorney's Office will decide if the firefighter will face charges or not. The firefighter feels terrible and has apologized publicly. What do you think of this? Do you think the firefighter should face charges or not?

  • Good job!

  • Wow! This is terrible! Even after surviving that terrible plane crash! I'm the fire truck didn't mean to hit the 16 year old girl. Fire trucks are usually in a rush trying to save other lives. So in that case in my opinion, I don't think the firefighter should press chargers.

  • I don't know for sure if he  should be charged because its not like her purposely meant to do it and he has apologized, but then again i'm sure her girls parents want him to be punished in some way for taking their daughters life.

  • I think that this is an accident. In this time of rescue the firefighter was focused and I could see how this accident could happen. It's a sad story but I think it was appropriate for the firefighter to apologize and know what he did was upsetting to many people.

  • well that is incredibly sad, I think that the firefighter was just in too much of a hurry, and should not be charged. I definitely don't think that he meant to run over her. If you intentionally run over someone you have problems.

  • That is a sad story, maybe the girl was under something or the fire fighter just couldn't see her. I don't think the firefighter should be charged, unless it was intentional, but I don't think it was.

  • I think it is extremely unfortunate to be lucky enough to survive a plane crash and then die because you were hit by a truck. If he hit her on accident, I don't think he should face charges. Now if he was being stupid and doing stupid things then yes he should be charged.

  • I think that the fireman should not be charged because he was trying to save lives. In the chaos, the firefighters just wanted to get everyone out and the fire put out.

    • Although it was sad, I think that it was probably better to loose one life compared to a ton of lives as well.

  • I think he hit her completely by accident and may have been in too much of a hurry to slow down or get off to the side and hit her. I think the lady was completely unlucky but I don't think the firefighter should be charged.
