Annaleise Carr, a teenager from Canada, was in the water for almost 27 hours, swimming 31.6 miles across Lake Ontario. She was trying to raise money for a child cancer support center, Camp Trillium. The day after she finished, the donations had reached $115,00 for the cancer center.

  • that's amazing, I have trouble wrapping my mind around people swimming that distance period, but a 14 year old!?! what am I doing with my life!? I'm glad this benefited the cancer center too.

  • I am really impressed that this girl swam all the way across one of the great lakes. I could never be able to swim for a mile let alone 31 miles.

  • That is so amazing. She had a great reason to do this because not everyone would even think of doing that. I know for a fact that i could not swim 31 miles across Lake Ontario, it takes a lot of guts and she had to be in some great shape.

  • Wow. She swam for 27 hours and got 31.6 miles! I wonder how long she trained for this because that seems kind of extreme for any person to do.

  • That is amazing because I know that I could never do that. It takes a lot of strength congratulations to her!!

  • Wow that's an amazing feat! Its so inspiring that she swam for a child cancer fund raiser, especially because of how old she is! she is so young!

  • Wow. I can't swim across a pool and back without thinking i am going to die. That is exstremely impresive! The money she made is incredable and for an amazing reason. I hate the feeling of being all pruny after being in water for to long, but if she doesn't mind, you go girl! (:

  • That's really impressive. I tried to swim from the middle of a lake in Missouri and couldn't make it to the edge of the lake, which was only a mile or so away.

  • Thats really impressive though! and only at 14. I know for a fact i could not swim for 27 hours straight. I couldnt do anything for 27 hours straight.
