12 shootings in Omaha so far

In the first eleven days of 2012, 12 people have been shot in Omaha.
The latest was an officer involved shooting around 3 a.m. Wednesday when a man was shot in the leg near 16th and Emmet streets.
Police were called to 18th and Emmet streets for suspicious parties call. One of the parties sparked a two-block foot chase. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have at least one person in custody for questioning.
In many of the other shootings, police reports indicate someone in cars targeted people standing, walking or driving nearby.
Most of the victims survived with minor injuries until Tuesday at noon when someone shot Joshua Drummond, 22, near 25th and Maple.

This is just crazy! I honestly dont see the point of killing someone. People should find better things to do! I think cops need to be more on watch. I dont think Omaha police have their priorites in order.

Talk about gangland. Im glad I dont live in the city and have to worrie about getting shot. Maby more officers should be on duty to stop shootings.

Wow... This truly shows you how dangerous omaha really is ha. That is exactly why i wouldn't want to live there when i'm older. It's just ridiculous.

This is just ridiculous. I was watching the news and there were five just last night. Its really crazy.

Thats crazy! i honestly do not understand how people can just take someone elses life... just hearing about someone dying or being attacked is lik wow seriously... bullying is bad enough! Thats someones family and you just attempted to take there life and may have actually killed them. Low lifes.
