On June 23, 12 boys and their soccer coach got trapped in a cave in Thai. They were trapped in the partially flooded cave for two weeks. The boy's ages ranged from 11-16 and the coach was 25. While they were in the cave they were able to write notes and send them out to divers who acted as postmen. They told their parnent 'not to worry' about them. The boys went exploring the Tham Luang Nang Non cave after a practice game. When Monsoon flooding cut off their escape, they became trapped for the next 10 days. Thai officals thought that getting out via the same way they entered was the only option. The last resort was an underwater escape since the boys were untrained. The path out was very complicated because of turns in the narrow flooded pathway. Thai officials had to act quick because of possible heavy downpour. Three Navy Seals were able to reach the boys and have health evaluations and rehabiliation, and were taught diving skills. The team began its first attempt, pairing each boy with two divers. The operation went much better than expected and they were able to safely escape. http://https://www.mprnews.org/story/2018/07/07/thai-soccer-players-trapped-in-cave-write-letters-tell-parents-not-to-worry
1. Do you think the Government acted quick enough or just in time?
2. How do you think the parent's felt recieving letters from their trapped kids telling them 'not to worry?'

I think the Government acted just in time because they were able to get them out safely. I know it was time consuming to find the route, find a way to get each boy out, and also get them some food to stay energized. I think it would be hard to stay alive and be fine in a cave for days and not knowing if anyone was going to come. I also think they did to a great job getting the boys out although it took some time. Even one of the rescuers got killed, I think it was a blessing to not have more killed throughout this process.
I think that the government acted just in time because they did manage to get the boys out before anymore downpour, but they could have thought of more time effecetive ways. They probably felt awful knowing there was nothing they could do. The parents as always were probably worried sick about their children.
I think the goverment came just at the right time so they could figure out what to do and how to get the kids in the safest way possible. I think the parent would be completelty terrified for there kids safety just because it wasnt sure how they would come out when they were new to diving and the possibility of getting hurt badly and or killed.
Not really cause the government needs to let the people know that there was a flood watch and that they should not go to that cave. I think the parents would be sad and disappointed that they might not make it.
I think that the government acted just in time. If they acted quick enough they probably would have been out of the cave earlier than they were. Honestly I think that the government should have been there eailier so that they could have gotten these boys and their coach out sooner. If I was one of the parents getting a letter from my kid, trapped in a cave I would probably freak out. I would first call the police and tell them that my child is trapped. and then i would probably go to the site and wait for the boys to be saved.
i think that they were cutting it a litte close they couldve gone a little sooner but i do belive that they got there just in time that they were worrying and they were trying to find out where they got trapped
I think the parents felt very relieved and were happy that they had gotten a letter from their sons. Not hearing from a son or daughter for several days and not knowing if they are safe or not is a scary situation to go through. Although the sons told their parents not to worry in the letter, their parents are obviously going to worry about there kids, thats just what parents do! I feel like their coaches told them to tell their parents not to worry because they will be home safe.
I think the Government acted just in time. I personally think 10 days is a long time and serious injuries could've happened. I think if one of the boys died, the government would've been blamed really bad. I do appreciate that the government got all the boys out with divers.
I too think that 10 days is a very long time for the government to get them rescued. I think the government made a good choice using divers as the rescuers. If somthing would have happened to one of the boys, then the government would be blamed for most of it I believe.
