An 11 year old boy who was at home with his sister, stopped many attempted break-ins already, before he shot the boy who broke in. The 11 year old lived in North Saint Louis, was home alone with his sister when a 16 year old was trying to break into his home, and the 11 year old shot him. A neighbor tries to tell the cops that the boys were fighting out on the porch and then the the 11 year old pulled out his gun and shot the 16 year old. The neighbor also said the 16 year old never even stepped foot into the home. The mother of the 11 year old bought a gun for their house after many other break-in attempts.
If you were the 11 year old boy, protecting your younger sister, do you think you too would shoot the intruder. (Please explain your answer)

I would because it is self defense if people were trying to break into my house i would probably get scared. So honestly i don't know how i would react.
I don't think I would have shot the 16 year old boy, but I would have flaunted the weapon as to scare the kid off. I think it's safe to have a weapon in your home just in case of a break in or emergency.
I would, I think it's very important that people our age should know how to safely use a gun. If someone is intruding your house, then I thinks it's okay for them to be shot.
If someone was trying to break into my house yes I would probably shoot him. Its either you or him. I mean you don't just hand your face over to bullies. I don't know if I would be able to trust an adolescent with a gun though..I would have to really trust him... I mean what if those two boys where just arguing and he just decided to shoot him.. that's dumb.
If I was that boy and he had come into the house and was trying to hurt her or take something from me, I think I would do something like that. But if he was just on the porch, you may have been able to scare him off just by saying my parents are home. One thing I'd like to add is how did this 11-year old get a hold of a gun and how did he get a hold of it so quick? Unless he had the gun on him, it wouldn't have been that easy to shoot him before he even got into the house if that was his intent.
Yeah, I think I would shoot the intruder because it is mostly self defense if the kid keeps trying to break into the house. I would do anything to protect my family from an intruder trying to break in.
I would definitely let the intruder stare down the barrel and consider turning around before I rendered him incapable to continue to break into the house. I sometimes have to watch my siblings while my parents are out, and whatever it takes to stay safe is what I will do. I wonder if the 11 year old shot to kill because it sounds like the family has had trouble with the same intruder.
If i were the 11 year old boy i would go tell my younger sister to hide and don't come out until i say so. I wouldn't shoot the intruder just yet i might call a neighbor or the cops, and wait for them to deal with the intruder
If I was that boy I think that I would just try to hold the intruder until the authorities arrived. The 11 year old was probably fed up with the break ins and just decided to take it out on the next fool that tried to come in.
