11 year-old boy goes missing in Colorado Springs

A 11 year old boy goes missing from his home in Colorado Springs and pronounced dead. Later the day after he was pronounced dead his step-mother was arrested for “murder in the first degree of a child under 12 years of age by a person in a position of trust; child abuse resulting in death; tampering with a deceased human body; and tampering with physical evidence.” He went missing on January 27th. His biological mother said he left and then never came back.

Do you think the punishment that the step-mother got is harsh or not.

I do not think so.

What are thoughts about the step-mother?

I think that she is a terrible person and the punsihment she is getting is good.

  • I agree with you that the punishment for the step-mother was not harsh at all. She took the life of someone she knew and was supposed to love. The child was also helpless and probably trusted the adult. The child had no clue what was about to happen. I think the step-mother is very cruel and maybe not right in the head. I think she might have a mental disease or she is just down right a killer.

  • I 100% think that the step mother should receive more of a punishment. Because she appeared in court and was convicted, she should serve much more time. This was a young child who had a lot of life ahead and it was cruelly taken from him. I personally believe that she should serve the max time possible and she should die in prison as well. There would be no point in her living at this point after taking such a valuable life. I don't know the whole story, but from what I know, the step mother seems like a person who just was not meant to deal with children and she made that show.

  • I also do not think that her punishment was harsh because she took a life from a kid. His step-mother must be really crazy and she probably struggles on the mental side of things and I think she should have gotten help before she would have killed the kid.

  • Since the mother was convicted of the crime in court, I still think she deserves more of a punishment because first of all this is a child we are talking about and especially when child is killed, the mother should be convicted to the max, which everyone should agree on.

  • I do think that the punishment is enough, she was sentenced with first degree murder, and a lot of other charges. My thoughts on the step-mother are, why would she do such a terrible act, why would you kill a chid, especiallyif it was a child you knew.

  • I don't think that the punishment was harsh i think its the right thing to do

that she is a absolute terrible person ad that the punishment she is getting is good for her

  • I dont think her punishment is harsh because she is a murderer and killed a 11 year of kid, and i think that the step mother should be sent to jain for life because she probably has mental issues and needs mental help since she tryed to mudder her son

  • I don't think that going to jail is to harsh but is the right way to punish someone who killed someone. Condsidering that she killed him for no reason, I think that she should be in jail for the rest of her life. She might try to kill other people. I think that she is mentally unstable if she is willing to beat a kid to death for no reason. She should stay in prision or in a mental institution away from people that she could harm.

  • No I dont think that the punishment was too harsh but im not sure how long she get sentenced to but i think she should get the death penalty for killing her step-son. I think that the step mother is a horrible perosn for doing what she did and now she has to face her actions and she deserves it.

  • No I do not think that the punishment the step mom got was harsh. It is sick and horrible for a step-mom to kill her son. She should face the charges and suffer the concequences of her actions. I also think that the step-mom must be wack or needs help due to her choices of killing her 11 year old step-mom.
