A new state law is put into place and takes affect in Florida on Tuesday. This state law lets people with felony convictions get their right to vote again. But there are some rules to it. Anyone with a murder or felony sexual offense doesn't get to vote. 65% of Florida approved of this law. The voters have to register and can either vote online or in person.

I think that this new law is fair especially for the convicts taht cleaned up their life. Many convicts come out of jail looking to change their life and be a better person. Their right to vote shouldn't be taken away from them. I am in favor of putting the law in place. It could help the convicts countinune on a new life path.
I never looked at it that way but now that you bring it up I totally agree. Prison does clean up a lot of people and they would want a new start at life and getting the right to vote will make them feel like part of their old life.
I believe this new law could help to increase the number of voters in Florida. Poloticians could potentially take advantage of the voters with felonys in the future. I think this law is fair because all US citizens have the right to vote, and no one should have the power to deny them that right.
Thats also true. Everyone does have the right to vote so they should also be able to vote. Also it will increase the number of voters which is also a big plus in the election.
I think it's the right thing to do, I'm a bit surprised that Florida voted this way. as there's many republicans and rich people who live there and are suuper conservative. I do think the law is fair, yes they did a bad thing but it shouldn't take away the right to vote.
That true. Even though what they did was bad everyone deserves a second chance and more than likely they are a different person after prison so they do diserve the right to vote.
I agree only if its a bad felony they shouldn't be able to vote. It is a free country so its only fair that once they get out that they get their rights back that have been granted to them.
I think if they have comitted a minor felony it shouldn't take away from their voting rights because they are still citizens. Perhaps they got convicted of a felony in their early years, but have learned from their mistake and gotten better. In that case, they should be given their right to vote back. However, murder and sexual offenses are much more serious than the other small felonies, so no, they shouldn't be allowed to vote.
I agree if they learned from their mistake then they definetly earn their right back and deserve to get it back. But obviously if it was a serious crime then no they should not get it back.
