As most people know, gas prices are rising very fast due to the invasion by Russia on Ukraine. Because of this, many people are having to pay much more money for gas, which they don’t really want to do, but they end up having to because they don’t think there are other options. However, a possible solution to the gas problem could be driving electric cars. Not only could help us save money, but it could also help our environment.
For some people it might seem a little bit extreme to go buy a new car just because you don’t want to pay for gas. However, buying an electric car can save you money in the long run. It has been proven that electric cars are three to six times cheaper to drive in the United States than normal cars. The total gas cost for one fueling of an Ford F150 is 99.31 dollars. The total charging cost for a Ford F150 Lightning is only 13.48 dollars. However, at it’s cheapest price, a Ford F150 only costs 29,990 dollars while a Ford F150 Lightning costs around 39,974 dollars. This is almost a ten thousand dollar difference but you will save much more than that if you don’t have to pay for gas.
Not only will you get to save money, but you could also help the economy. When less people are using gas we don’t need as much gas, meaning that the national gas prices could go down and the people that can’t buy electric cars won’t have to pay as much for gas. It could also help our environment and make our lives easier.
I think that electric cars could help you save a lot of money on gas at some point. However, there would have to be a lot more people that drive electric cars to make much of a change in the gas price and I don't see that happening anytime soon. I wouldn't want to drive an electric car and I also know that sometimes electric cars aren't the best option for certain people.
Do you know anyone that owns an electric car?
Do you think that electric cars can help save money and help the economy?

Good topic choice Kassie, but electric cars have been done before so no extra credit. Your summary is well done(perhaps a bit brief) and you did a good job replying to people.
I think it would be better to drive an electric car or a hybrid. It might cause a bit at first to buy a new car, but eventually, you'd end up paying less then with a car that only uses gas. Not only will you be saving money, but will also be helping out our environment as well.
I agree that electric cars can be saving people some money during this time. due to the gas prices rising I feel that it can be very helpful financially due to the prices taking a bit of a rise. On the other hand electric cars are very expensive as it is.
I drive a hybrid and even just a hybrid is very nice when it comes to the gas prices. I fill up rarely and right now it only takes about 30 dollars to fill the whole thing. I think that electric cars can save money and could help the economy, but it is very unlikely for all gas-fueled cars to be completely gone.
I know two people who own electric cars and I know they are very happy that they do with the high gas prices. I think that electric cars could be the new thing. Electric cars can save money because of how expensive gas is right now and it will help the economy because we won't be burning so much gas.
I do not think either one is better because they are both gonna cost money. I also do not think electric cars are a good option right now.
No, i do not know anyone with an eletric car. I do think they are better for the envioment and economy but they are expensive. People say they pay for themselves by saving gas money, but if you charge your car at home your bill will go up for your electricity.
I don't think that electric cars are the way to go. They are terrible for the environment compared to regular cars. Not only do you have to have huge lithium mines, you also have to burn natural gas to generate the electricity. You also have energy loss through transporting electricity throught the power lines. I think the better thing to do would be to have cars run on natural gas.
Because gas prices are only going to have a net increase, I believe It would be smart to drive an electric car or a hybrid. Charging an electric car can vary in price from $9 to $15. This, as you may have noticed, is less than $50. IN the long run, an electric car will save you money because of how cheap it is to fill up.
I don't think electric car/trucks are the thing to go to right now, but probably will be the future. Right now, there just isn't any studies on how they are long term because they have not been mass produced for many years. Second, I pull trailers quite often, and right now there isn't any electric trucks that can pull trailers like a loaded cattle trailer. I think eventually there will be electric trucks that can do that efficiently, but that time isn't now. So for now I will stay with fuel efficient gas and diesel vehicles.
