Week of October 27-31

Monday- We talk about the school shooting in Washington, and present two videos

Land Mines-

Land Mines kill about 2000 people a year and were left in the ground from WWII.

High School Dropouts-

School dropout rates are decreasing. Iowa has the highest graduation rate. People drop out for several reasons including pregnancy, they don't like the teacher, job opportunitys, getting married, and so they can support the family.

Tuesday- 

We talked about a volcano that erupted and now its magma is slowly moving toward a small town in Hawaii. 

We talked about a prison run by the Kurdish people, this prison is holding ISIS prisoners. The Kurds say they are holding these prisoners because if they let them go they will join ISIS again.  

The next topic was Global Warming. Global warming is were the pollution that is being put in the air is basically putting a blanket over the world. The pollution is making a shield in the atmosphere.

Friday- We adopted two animals from the WWF- red panda and three-toed sloth
