- Overproduction of goods. We produced to much goods and people weren't buying all of them
- Stock prices went up
- Buying on margin
- High tariffs
- Banks closed. No profit from goods so nobody put money in the banks

New Deal Programs were introduced. What the New Deal programs were meant to do was to help people, businesses, banks, farmers, etc.
Herbert Hoover created this to help people during the Great Depression. Ex. are
R.E.A- this organization helped the farmers
C.C.C- helped people who didn't have jobs get jobs.

causes for US- Pearl Harbor- we quit trading with Japan so they bombed us to “keep us out of the war”
- After that Pearl Harbor attack, they "awoke a sleeping giant"
Hitler came to power
Atomic Bombs- was a major impact in this war
Cold war afterwards with the Soviet Union
Split up of Germany- East vs. West
We didn't go back to isolationism
One of the important event that happened was D-Day
Home front was important

More man-power- troops were strong
Atomic bombs- we had the power to destroy their country
Woman helped a lot at the home front.

It was a back and forth war (North invades-UN pushes back)
Treaty is signed between North and South to stop fighting
Technically we are still at war with Korea. We never signed a treaty to end it

It was unpopular because the american people had no idea what was going on in Vietnam but there was media over there though.
People avoided the draft- get married, go to college, go to Canada, medical leave (fake an injury)

Bush focused on this war while Obama pulled troops out.
