Letters from Iwo Jima

This was a very interesting movie. I liked to see a movie from the other side not always the american side. This movie showed why the Japanese did not win the war, if they fought the entire war like they fought at Iwo Jima then they were just killing a bunch of their own people. I really would have liked if it was in English, but it was not bad reading the subtitles. In this movie it starts out with a group of scientists discovering new information about the caves in Iwo Jima, they came across a letter, which is where the story starts. It goes on to show how the Japanese prepared for the battle at Iwo Jima and then their poor fighting during the battle. I did not make it to the very end of the movie because I fell asleep, but there was about 10 minutes left. In my opinion this was one of the best war movies I've seen and I would definitely recommend it to a friend. But there are some very gory parts that would not be good for kids.
