This is the "Round Tower" or "Bell Tower" of the early Irish Monastries. These were used to summon monkens for prayer. The tower is around 100 feet tall, and has 6 flights of wooden stairs leading to the top. The windown as you see under the tumbstone is the door. They would use a ladder to get inside and then pull the ladder back in, so an enemy couldnt get in.
