Woman Executed in Georgia

Not since Lena Baker, an African-American convicted of murder in Randolph County, has Georgia executed a woman. The state is scheduled to snap that 70-year streak on Wednesday. Kelly Renee Gissendaner, 47, was convicted in a February 1997, for plotting the murder of her husband with Gregory Owen. Gregory Owen was romantically involved with Kelly and with her, decided to kill her husband because she feels that if she divorces him "he won't leave her alone". They plotted the murder for months and after they finally did it they did a poor job hiding it. Gregory eventually confessed to the murder and they were both put in jail. She tried to bribe somebody to play the part of a third person involved in the murder, which just put her farther from freedom when she got caught.

Do you believe in the death penalty and why?

Do you feel that she deserves it?

  • Good story choice but you didn't reply to any comments.

  • I believe the death penalty is necessary sometimes but I don't think that she should serve the death penalty. She didn't kill anyone yet.

  • I personally think a life sentence is a better punishment, but then there are people that would just wait until they got out and do something terrible again. Those are the people that the death penalty is for.

  • No I don't think that the death penalty is good because they should serve their time in jail. I don't think she deserves it.

  • I don't think the death penalty is right. People who do crime should spend their time in jail and learn their lesson. I think she should spend time in jail.

  • I think the death penalty depends on what you have done. I don't think she should get the death penalty because people have murdered people before and didn't get the death penalty but she dos need jail time.

  • No, I don't think she deserves it even though she killed him.

  • i really dont know if i believe in the death penalty or not because some people do deserve it or they don't.

i don't think she should be put to death i think think she should just serve life.

  • No i don't think the death penalty is fair even thought she killed her husband. I think she deserves time in jail to learn her lesson.

  • No I don't believe in the death penalty but I do think she should suffer her life in jail.

Possibly, what she did was bad.
