Voter Fraud

Over the past year Iowa and many other states have started doing mail in ballots. Mailing ballots became a thing when some people during the Coronavirus Pandemic were too scared to leave their house to go vote at their polling place. Mailing in ballots can increase voter fraud turnout but could also help people who are not able to go to their polling place to vote.

Voter fraud is when a person commits or attempts to commit a fraud with a connection of voting, or votes more than once in an election. If a person does this they can be convicted of a felony of the third degree and fined up to 5,000 or serve up to five years. Many politicians in every level of government have claimed that in 2016,2018 and 2020 elections were ruined unfairly by large numbers of people voting illegally. Democrat and Republican parties are both guilty of voter fraud during multiple elections. The Democrats claim voter fraud by Republicans in 2000, 2004, 2016, 2018. The Republicans have also claimed Voter fraud in Democrats  in 2020. The supreme court has rejected each of these hearings saying none of them had accurate or enough proof claiming Voter fraud. There has never been any ruling of voter fraud by Republican or Democratic parties as a whole but there has been around 475 voter fraud cases in the United States by individual people. This number has increased as the amounts of mail out ballots have increased.

The reason states have chosen to mail out voting Ballots is to increase voter turnout.  This has increased because some voters are not feeling safe or secure in the voting process saying that they still don't feel comfortable in the polling places. Some other people, mostly elderly like to mail out ballots because they are unable to go to the polling places. Some people would rather have mail out ballots to help with the gas and time it can take to vote.

In my opinion There should not be mail in ballots because it can increase voter fraud and probably has. When a relative of mine died she still got 2 mail in ballots. I don't think that she could have been the only one that has gotten a few ballots. If we were to fill in her ballot and turn it in it would be counted. I think that it creates voter fraud and unfair elections.

    • I agree and it would be easy to replace or throw the ballots out.

  • I do not think there should be mail in ballots. i belive if there are mail in ballots the people who bring them could look at the ballots and throw them away if they do not like the person they voted for. that would make voter fraud way easier.

    • I agree and whose to say they havent already throw them away out of their own opinions.
