Tutor Charged with Child Abuse

25-year old Timothy Randall Korr, was a tutor for the Baltimore Curriculum Project, and working at City Springs Elementary School.  He has been fired and arrested for the child abuse of 7-year- old, Trayvon Grayson.  After Trayvon was removed from the class for misbehaving and was thrown against the wall for acting unruly.  He was left with a fractured jaw and two missing teeth.  Korr told said that Trayvon lost his footing and "hit himself" against the wall, but his mother is not buying that story.  She said that he is so small how could he cause that much damage to himself.  The school has provided evidence to the police with a video of the incident.  Korr has been charged with first- and second- degree child abuse, first- and second- degree assault, reckless endangerment and neglect of a minor.

Do you agree with the mother that Trayvon is to small to have caused so much damage to himself? Why?

What do you think made Korr push Trayvon into a wall?

I have to agree with the mother that it is not possible to fall into a wall and cause so much damage.  It takes some force to get a fractured jaw and two missing teeth, and I don't think that happened from just losing your footing.  I think that he might have a really bad temper that he can't control.  So he shouldn't have been a teacher working with troubled students in the first place.

  • Super job Maggie!

  • I agree completely. If he had just fallen that amount of damage could not have been caused by a fall with only the power of his small weight behind it. Trayvon was probably misbehaving like any other seven year old has. Karr had a major overreaction and must have some other deeply rooted issues to hurt an innocent child for being mischievous.

  • Yes I do because why would he hurt himself? I think maybe Korr has anger issues and Trayvon could have talked back to him or wasn't listening.

  • I do agree with the mother that a seven year old is too small to cause a fractured jaw and two missing teeth from "accidentally" hitting wall. Maybe Korr was having a bad day and took his anger out on this child. I don't think we ever know the reason why children become hurt by adults; sometimes they just aren't sane.

  • It is unclear what could have caused such a act of conduct but it is for sure that the tutor is over reacting. As for if he did it to himself I doubt that, it had to have been harm from another person.

  • I think that maybe he could do that much to himself, but I doubt it. I think that he was just very upset whit the child and wasn't thinking.

  • I think there might be some ways he could have done this to himself, but it is very unlikely. I think Korr might have a slight temper and he just got fed up with it.

  • Yes, I do agree with his mom he's only 7 and most 7 year old's can't do that much to them self and since this is so bad. I do agree with his mom. Because with it that bad it need to have force to make it have two missing teeth to. I think that hey may just get really mad and just couldn't take it anymore and just kind of took it out on a kid which is not okay.

    • I agree with you that it would be very hard for a 7 year old to do so much damage to himself to get a fractured jaw and two missing teeth from just losing your footing.

  • Yes I agree, I doubt a kid that small can break his jaw and knock out two teeth by just tripping into a wall. I think he just has a really bad temper that he could not control and he took it out on a kid.
