The 5-0 and Cameras

A surveillance camera company has donated body cameras to the Ferguson Police Department. Do to all the protests after an unarmed black teenager was shot and killed by a white police officer. The company said the donation was made "in an effort to protect both law enforcement and the public with the capture of indisputable evidence."

Do you think that this will start the trend in surveillance cameras on police officers? Why?

  • A bit brief with your summary and you didn't reply to people's comments.

  • Yes I think it will become something that is going to be required for every officer because it will be great for proving evidence.

  • I hope so. I think that the cameras will really help with accusations and he-said-she-said situations. I wished we didn't have to need cameras, but the world isn't a perfect place.

  • I think that the police should be required to wear body cameras because not only will it help the people that they are dealing with but it will help protect them in cases like the Ferguson one.

  • Yes I think so because they have them they should use them for their safety. I also think its a good thing because if a police officer isn't doing their job right they will now because its all on video.

  • Yes because I think it is a good idea if they have cameras on them so if an big incident happens the court will see the whole truth.

  • Yes especially in bigger towns and cities where there are more crimes and racism. I think that cameras should be necessary in all cop cars that turn on when the lights do and shut off when they do.

  • Yes because when the kill someone they will have some good ol proof

  • Yes because when they do shoot they have to write a report on it right after it which they could leave out some but with a camera they could catch a lot more.

  • No. I think that this is just a one time deal. This situation is getting very violent and I think it is just for the safety of everyone. I don't think police with start using them individually, unless it is necessary like this situation.
