In 2011 Julie Schenecker was arrested for shooting both of her teenage kids. "Schenecker, a 53-year-old former military intelligence officer and interrogator, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder. She faces life in prison if convicted." However in the past month the death penalty was no longer something they were looking into because of the fact she suffers from mental health issues. I can't imagine how bad she must have been suffering from mental heath issues to kill her own kids. Do you think she is a bad person/mother or do you think she or do you think she didn't know what she was doing, and what is your reasoning for you answer?

This is awful. I think a lot of it had to do with mental stability, but I still don't understand how she could kill her own children.
Her children probably shouldn't have been living with her if she was the mentally unstable. I think she knew what she was doing but didn't understand it all because of her mental illness.
its stories like this ya really hate to hear i feel bad for the mother but ya do the crime you do the time!
This happens more then you think, I feel she knew what she was doing but who knows mental health issues are kinda iffy
I think that she probably didn't know what she was doing do to her mental health issues.
I think that that is awful, but if she has mental health issues she probably didn't know what she was doing. What a horrible situation.
Honestly I would like to believe anyone who would do this must be incredibly sick. I think that if she is not sick this obviously makes her a bad person.
This is crazy something defiantly had to be wrong with this person to do something like kill your own kids. Even if they made you really mad and gave you a gun I dont think anyone would pull the trigger.
I think that this is terrible. You would think that someone would have seen how her state of being was changing and maybe could have prevented it. I don't know if she would have done this on purpose or if it was as she said, her mental health issues.
I think America needs to do something about mental illness and weapons... too many shootings happen like this and its terrible. She must have been in a pretty bad state to kill her own kids
