Nearly 2,000 Indians are taking shelter and are stuck in bunkers as of Febuary 25th. Through out those nights Russian forceces coming in, the Indian medical students are shoved in the basesment of the appartements sruggling and scared to get out. Big explosion are happening around them all over in the town called Kharkiv. "Devi" is what they refer to the medical students as. The are tens of thousands of foreign students trapped in Ukraine.

There's about 76,000 foreign students studying in Ukraine right now. They aresrudents mainly studdies over medical things and as well as families too. A former student at Ukraine's Ternopli National Medical University, fith-year student Pushpak Swarnakar, Is one of the 2,000 students taking shleter in bunkers at Ukraine. He said "There are lot of people taking shelter and it's very scary here. Don't leave or you will be harmed by bombs." Seeing that this man says thoes thing seems really scary. It makes you just want to help those 2,000 people.

The food and water supply is runing really short, so that means that those poeple need to get out of there quick and fast. Because they don't have much food or water and that every thing around them is blowing up, We as Americans I feel like should go and try to help them get out of there. I wonder if we can get our troops out there to help rescue these 2,000 college students that need ot get out of there. Especially if they are running low on food and water supply there. They won't make it very far if they don't have much food or water supply. Yes they are taking shletter in bunkers, but it wont be safer much longer with all the bombs going off.

Would you say we should send some of our troops out to help rescue them?

Do you think it's very safe for thoes students and other families to be in Ukraine right now?

  • Well done Samantha! Be sure to check back on Thursday so you can reply to more students.

  • I think we should at least send supplies to help them. I also don't think that it is not that safe for them to be there they should try to find somewhere to put people if they can.

  • I believe we should, but its not my call to make to send the troops there to save them. Right now for the students, it is not safe for them at all, because there are bombs, men gunning down others just because they are Ukrainian. I am hoping that they survive.

  • I feel like any foreigner trapped in a place like Ukraine right now would be very terrifying. Any Ukrainian in general is not safe in their own country right now, and the invasion of their homecountry must be horrifying. Russia (more of the oligarchs of Russia) are too power hungry and will stop at nothing to get what they want.

  • I believe that if we send troops to Russia they will think we want to take part in this war, and that is definetely not what we want. I believe that we do not what due to Ukraine not in NATO. I personally think that this situation is just terrible.

  • I think that if we send our troops Russia will think we want war which is the last thing we want since Ukraine is not in NATO. That is also the reason behind this war. We cannot send troops to Ukraine to help due to the United Nations as Russia is also apart of that.

  • I think it would be better if we don't send troops. Ukraine is not a part of NATO, so it would be better to not get involved. I think we need to do whatever we can to stay out of the war. If we get involved, it will just make everything worst.

  • I think it's best if we don't send in any troops. There are organizations that are out there helping. By sending in troops, we will be basically joining a war that has nothing to do with us. Although what is happening is sad, there are things that we can do to help without having to send in troops. We can donate money or other things to different organizations to help out the people of Ukraine.

  • I think something should be done in order to save these 2000 college students. It is super unfortunate that they had to be put in this situation, and I think it is our job to get them out. I think it is completely unsafe to be in Ukraine right now, and the conditions these people are living in have to be awful.

  • I think that we need to stay out of the war and not involve ourselves. It will only lead to worse conditions for American citizens and we just got out of the 20 year war. It's awful that these families and students are stranded in Ukraine and I think something will be organized to attempt to rescue them.
