socks and suicide notes

A suicide was found in stuffed in the sock of the 72 year old Toshikatsu Kurihara after an explosion who took place near a parking lot of joshi park, Utsunomiya in North Tokyo where a festival was being held.  Kurihara was blown apart by an explosive device. The police and fire department got an emergency call saying a man was burning and when they finally got there they found metal pieces from cars and damaged body parts. Apart from Kurihara three other people were injured. The park has been closed down while the case is being investigated. Kurihara was a retired self defense forces officer, a the police confirmed that his house caught on fire  earlier that day.

Policemen and firefighters investigate a parking lot after an explosion in Utsunomiya, some 100 kilometres (60 miles) north of Tokyo, on October 23, 2016.

Questions:

what do you think the letter meant?

Do you think Kurihara might have been in charge of the explosion? what made you come to this conclusion?

Do you think other people should have been affected by this act?

I don't think that Kurihara killed himself, this shows more how suicide can hurt others even if they didn't deserve it.

  • Be sure to capitalize words in your title. You also only commented once. When there aren't a lot of comments, you should reply to everyone.

  • There's so much that could have happened that we don't know of. We can only guess what happened and why it happened. The police will investigate and hopefully they will find an answer. This case seems a little mysterious. It feels weird that he would commit suicide, where he could hurt others too.

  • The information that I gathered, I do think that he could of been in trouble with the police if he did do it, but its a 50, 50 and things are different in Tokyo.

  • Perhaps he simply didn't want to live anymore, or maybe he just wanted his relatives to find the note in case he died randomly without warning. But I do not believe he was part of this accident, and suicide can affect others in ways we never imagine.

    • i have to agree with you on that and also looking at how the case is still a pretty strong mystery, and yes i don't think he did it considering his background story
