Should we have study halls?

Should we have study halls? 

 

This is something I have been thinking about for a while and I believe that study halls are useless (for me personally anyway). I would rather do my homework at home as it is quieter, I’m in my room and it’s more comfortable.  

 

The only thing that study halls are useful for is if you need help.  But when you are at home, you can also get help by looking up a video or calling a friend. 

 

Some research says that study halls are good for people who have bad grades and/or a bad home environment.  And also that study halls can benefit. But I think, then, instead of going to study hall, go to the classroom that you need help in. So, if someone is struggling, say in Math, then they should go there for extra help, during what I need (win). Which is basically like a study hall. 

 

But there are very many negatives to having a study hall like people who don’t use their time wisely and they could just have another class period. 

 

Many other people say that you should have study halls so then you don’t have to stay after school because staying after school is not very beneficial. Also, if you have to take your homework home, you don’t have as much time to spend with your family. But, I still feel like there is no point in having a study hall when you don’t get a grade for it. So here are the facts given on why I feel like we should not have study halls.

yes i think that we should have study halls in school because we need time to do homework during school because some people have a study hall before a class and they get there work done in there study hall and if we didn't have a study hall during the day then people would have a lot of missing homework

This makes sense personally I do not believe that people use these very wisely but when people do that is great honestly I just think personally I do not use mine wisely Therefore I think that there is no point in having them for me but I'm glad that we have our choice.

I have a study  hall and yes it is benifcial so I do not have to do much homewerok at home. I do not like study hall as much as others do, Im not a big fan of how slow times goes in study hall. But yes study hall is the best time to go to the bathroom.

I do have studys halls and I think helping them is really good because kids somtimes cant get their things done if not. Some kids do not like doing homework at home. I think that study hall is a good time for using the restroom because you not missing class for it.

Yes i have a study hall and yes i think we should and we need them. many students take these study halls serious and get their homework or make up test done in this time, many people who dont have homework just have time to relax and i like my study hall

study hall is a very good time to study?do test if we didn't have a study hall I wonder when we should do it because most people staying after school isn't an option and the teachers don't want to stay after school for that long. I agree that this  is a good time to relax

Yes, I do have a study hall and I like them a lot. I think that they are very beneficial to helping kids study and to get their homework done. I usually use the bathroom in my study hall, but teachers usually let you use them all during the day not just in our study hall classes.

This is honestly why one of the reasons I believe that we shouldn't have  study halls because most teachers are very understanding about whether you should have to use the restroom  I think that the teachers get it and this is the only reason why I would have a study hall is to use the bathroom during that time.

I think that we should have study halls because it allows studants who need extra time to do homework. Alot of people do use the time to jack around and do nothing. But, we can't take away time from good studants just because of some bad ones.

I personally believe that we should have study halls because I personally have one and I think that it is very helpfull because you can work on late homework or if need be finish your homework so then you do not have to take it home with you.
