should underclass men be able to leave for study hall?

Many students have study hall for at least one period of the day. however most kids just sit on their phones and do not work on work so what is the point of us being there, many students would like to go home during their study hall and they can't because they have to get signed out, students should be able to leave during there study halls so they have free time in between classes to refocus ourselves During the school day the administration is responsible for the safety of all students In order to fulfill this responsibility the administration feels it necessary to monitor students from the time they arrive at school to the time they get home

 

Students are currently expected to stay in study hall because the administration believes study hall encourages productivity and ensures students’ safety allowing responsible students to go home during study hall would allow them to use their periods more efficiently students who need to write essays or work on projects would be able to do so in a quiet space with familiar computers and materials. Students participating in after-school activities can get a head-start on their homework and save valuable time.  

 

While student safety is perhaps a more valid concern than student productivity responsible upperclassmen can be expected to accept liability for themselves while off-campus. in terms of legal responsibility, a system can easily be put in place to release the school of accountability for a student’s safety while he or she is off campus. It is important to remember that an off-campus privilege would be more precise than a privilege.

I agree with this it could give students responsibility and when we are in study hall people don't use there time

I don't really think sophomores or freshmen should be able to leave, nor is there a pressing need for them to leave. Many sophomores and freshmen don't have licenses anyways, so it would only apply to select students. It's almost a fact that not everyone in the entire school population is responsible enough for the privilege. Even seniors have to have certain test scores to leave during study halls. Having open campus during my senior year feels like a reward for the past three years of work and makes this final stretch a lot calmer. If I had open campus for all four years, it would make this year's open campus feel a lot less rewarding. I also don't believe I would have had the work ethic in my freshmen and sophomore year to do homework at home, especially since driving to and from your home gives you less time to actually "study".

I believe that all students should be able to leave during study halls because it teaches students responsibility and time management. Most students don't do anything in study hall anyway so why keep students at school? Also, I think they should be able to leave during lunch because lunch at school is bad the majority of the time.

I think that students should be able to leave during study hall. I think this because while there is an issue of students safty I think that it should be something like getting extras at lunch I think that students should be allowed to as long as they get signed permission from their parents because then that takes issues off the school because that means the parents think that their kid is responsible enough.

I do not think freshmen should be able to leave during study hall. I feel freshman year is a busy one and they need to prioritize their studies. However, I think that Us sophomores should be able to leave. I feel that we are responsible enough. Also If our grades our good then there should be no issues. Overall I feel sophomores and up should be able to leave during study halls. Good topic!

I think that students should be able to leave during study hall because they need time to take a break from school. I also think they should be able to leave because some people have really bad mental health and sometimes they just need a break.
