On the morning of tuesday March 20 2018 The 17th school shooting since the start of 2018 took place at Great Mills High school. Thankfully there were no fatalities. However three people were injured during the shooting. The school was put on lockdown for a brief time and all of the students were evacuated to a reunification center at a nearby high school. one of the teachers contacted CNN from inside a math classroom with his cell while the school was on lockdown. just the week before the students at Great Mill walked out to protest and now they were a victim of a shooting. many have sent support through social media.
Do you think this is more proof that teachers should be armed?

I think something should be done to help prevent mass shootings, but I don't think arming tachers would make it safer. With teachers armed they could use it for the wrong or even accidentally injure someone else on accident. I think the school acted as quickly as they could, luckily there were no fatalities and few injured.
I think that we should arm teachers, but they need to be mentally and physically stable to handle them and really know the equiptment infront of them. It was a lot quicker then the one weeks ago.
I think this goes to show again that something needs to be done in order to prevent school shootings. It may be arming the teacher or it may be creating stricter gun laws. Either way we must find an effective way to stop school shootings from becoming a regular occurence. I think the school acted as quickly as they possible could, and they are very lucky to have no fatalitlies.
I don't think teachers should be armed because if they shoot, they might harm other people and I don't think most teachers would be able to shoot if a school shooter came in. I think the school was quick for getting a lockdown but they need to make sure if someone with a gun comes in people need to act quickly.

No, I think that arming teacher isn't the right thing to do because what it is doing is putting guns in schools not taking them away. I think it is apperant that they did because no lives were lost.
well the gunner was one of the wounded and has died. the story had updated since i posted this.
I think this provides evidence that something definitely needs to be done to prevent school shootings, whether it is by arming teachers or restricting gun use. I think the school acted as quickly as they could. Although three students were injured, the school did act quickly enough to catch the shooter before any one was killed.
