Russian Subway Bomb

In the city of St. Peters burg, Russia (Second largest city in Russia). At least 1 bomb went off in a subway killing 10 people and injuring 50+ others. President Vladimir Putin has declared this to be an act of terror even though no one has taken credit for the bombing. The bomb was loaded with a large amount of shrapnel attempting to hurt/Kill as many people as possible. After this explosion authorities had found a second device in a different station that did not explode. They believe that this bombing is connected to different bombings in 2009 in most of Europe.

Questions:

1. Since they made a connection between different bombings do you feel safe? (Do you think they will come to the U.S)

2. Do you think that this explosion will help push us to end the war of Terrorism?

  • Good job overall but be sure to add a link to your story and include your opinions within your summary. -5 late

  • I dont think there will be bombing in the US any time soon. I mean people bomb places all the time so i guess it could happen anytime. I dont think we will go to a war any time soon either. I think something very bad would have to happen that would push us over the edge.

  • I feel safe here in Iowa, but traveling to bigger cities I feel a little different. Bombs could be planted or set anywhere and you may not know. It would be great to end terrorism but I don't think it will ever be that way. Even if laws are made people probably wont take it seriously.

  • I feel safe i feel that ISIS is never going to stop growing i feel safe but what happens. I feel that we need to think about other things that we can do to protect the US from more terrorism. I think that we need to also get more ideas to get some people to watch and monitor ISIS more.

  • At the rate that people are destroying each other, I don't feel safe anywhere. I don't think that it will effect us very much, but I think that it will push Russia to start working on helping us get rid of terrorism.

  • I do feel safe, I think airline security is to good to let bombs through and if they did make one mistake I doubt that Iowa would be the state they bombed. I think it will push to even more security measures but it will be a while before it is ended completely

  • 1. I don't feel safe because anyone is capable of doing anything. I think that they might come to the U.S with these attacks.

    2. I don't believe so. I think it might be making things worse.

  • I think that is possible that there will be a bombing in the U.S. I don't think this attack will effect our war on terrorism much.

  • I'm not sure that I'm scared of a bomb around here because if there would be a bomb in the U.S., it would be in a big, big city, but anything is possible. No, this is an act of terrorism and if Russia and the U.S. don't get our act together, it will be very bad.

  • To a degree, terrorism has already come to the United States. There have been a few “small” bombings, many of which were committed by “lone wolves”, but regardless are terroristic attacks. It’s definitely easier to say that the Unites States can help stop the war on terrorism rather than do. It almost seems as if it will never end.
