A woman collapses in the middle of a dollar store while shopping with her 2 year old daughter. This was because she overdosed on opiates. Opiates are a form of medicine that make you drowsy, depressed, sedative, and are very similar to morphine. When the mother fell onto the store floor, her daughter began screaming and crying and grabbed at her mother's unresponsive body. She tried to pull her up with one, and then both hands, but the mom doesn't even move. She even reached around her mom's neck pulling her head and chin up, but still nothing. A bystander had called 911, and they were on their way at the time that everyone stood around. She was given 2 doses of Narcan to block out the effect of opiates.
Drug overdoses are now a very common reason for deaths. Sky rocketing to almost 50,000 deaths in the past few years. Passing both car accidents and shootings.

My opinion: I think they didn't want to scare the child and they didn't know if the mom was just crazy. I think it is because drugs are so much easier to get now a days. And I think they need to run a background check on her and see if the child should stay with her.

I think the little girl should be taken away so she is no longer in danger and the mother should probably get some type of jail sentence or fine.

Yes, she was in danger with her mother and should be separated, even though this is sad for them to have to be apart.
I do not understand why the people would not help the little girl, that does not make any sense. I would have tried to calm the little girl down and help her out. Make sure 911 had been called and just try to help her calm down. I think drugs are easy to get now a days and people do not rally care about their money and just use them for drugs. People are becoming very attached to drugs and just use them for every little thing. I do not think the mother should have her child, at least not a for a little. Because to have to put your daughter through that and her to have to see that is not good. She should not have that in her life and taught about that and have to see it at this age.
I do agree with you, even though some think it is best to stand back and leave them alone, I think someone should have comforted her. Yes, people really do. Or they see their friends doing it and get addicted, and they do them even though they have no idea what the drug really is.
No one probably helped her because 911 had already been called, and they wouldn't want to frighten her even more. I would have called 911 right away to receive help and stand with the little girl to make her feel safe. People are dying from drugs because they are almost everywhere now. People get them so easily and then just take them. I think the mom should go to rehab so that she is no longer addicted to drugs.
That's true, I am sure they knew help was on the way and didn't worry too much about it. I agree, and there needs to be more classes taught on the importance of certain drugs.

I honestly don't know what in the world is wrong with people, if somebody is in despret need of help, why not do the kind thing and help? Not a lot of people are very nice anymore and some people are just way to selfish to even help a woman with a two year old. A lot of people are dying from drugs because they are addicted, suicidal, or just do it for the heck of it.
