A group of US troops that were in Somalia acting as advisers was put under light fire in the early stages of a mission involving the terrorist organization Al Qaeda. The group was quickly taken down. There was 1 death involving a navy seal and 2 injured 1 of which was a translator of from the US. These were the first deaths since 1993 which involved two black hawk helicopters being shot down and 18 American soldiers being killed. In response the US will be sending a new contingent of about 40 soldiers to join the near 50 already there. They will still hold the same mission of advise and assist the currant Somalian forces.
Do you think that we are doing the right thing by sending more forces to Somalia?

I believe if the Al Qaeda group is large enough to ambush this group and still cause trouble in the region we should help take action against them, however we should send better equipment and not risk more of our troops lives, I think the more we send the larger scale attacks the terrorist group will commit.
If I was in charge I would be sending in better equipment and not more troops. The more troops we have there the more the terrorist will have to target and they will begin planning larger scale invasions and attacks.

I think that it is okay that the US is sending in more troops. It may help put and end to this fight. But, it might also make it worse. They may think that we are trying to take over them. I would be very scared if I was in charge of this operation. I would have a lot of people's lives in my hands.
I think that sending more forces is the right thing to do because then there is more people to help stop this. If I was in charge, I would be scared and shocked that this happened but I would try to get better mechanical equipment and protection for the troops.
I think sending more troops in is a good idea I just think that we need to be better prepared for things like this. I think we should also consider sending money to Somalia to help the people support themselves and others. If I were in charge I would be shocked that this happened, but I would send more troops in and have better sources of protection for them to be using.
I think US is doing the right thing by sending more people to Somalia as I think they need more soldiers to help the other ones or else we never know when these Al Qaeda group is going to do next. I would send more trained people to take care of the situation for a while and also sending enough weapons.
Considering the circumstances that Al Qaeda is still present and is able to kill US troops, i think that it wasn't a bad thing to send more troops over to help the ones already there. I would feel bad that men under my command were killed/injured
I think that it is good we are sending troops because then there is more help to stop this, we just need to make sure we are sending weapons to protect ourselves. I would be scared, and hope that all the troops are prepared for what could happen.
I feel like it is the right thing as long as we can totally wipe out this organization. but I feel like as it is a never ending battle right now isn't the best time to be doing this. I would send better equipment and more troops so we would be less likely to have more losses.
I think that we are doing good, by helping to fight to get the terrorist out of there. I would be very sad for the death of the solider, and i would want to make sure that something like this never happens again.
I think that sending more troops would show that this will not be accepted and that they wont get away with it. If I was in charge i wold be vary nervous of another attack. I wold make sure that the people out there risking there lives were better prepared and equipped for an attack.
I think we are because if we don't take control of the situation and help the Somalian forces then the terrorist group would overrun the forces in that area. I would be very nervous because your in charge of alot of lives.
