First lady gives a powerful speech at Tuskegee University in Alabama. Claiming she was held to a different standard compared to other candidates' wives during the 2008 campaign due to her race. She said during her husbands campaign she was faced with questions that she said were not typical for other candidates' wives. "As potentially the first African-American first lady, I was also the focus of another set of questions and speculations, conversations sometimes rooted in the fears and misperceptions of others," she told the class of 2015. "Was I too loud or too emasculating? Or was I too soft? Too much of a mom and not enough of a career woman?"

She is looking for some attention because she is about to be out of office so that why she waited so long.
I don't know why she waited so long, but i think it was kind of out of place at a graduation.
I think that she probably wasn't wrong about the different questions. She has been in the news more than other first ladies that i remember.
Like matthew said, she was probably just looking for attention but you never know. That's the suspicious part. She waited a long time to say this. That's what makes me think that. But still, you never know why.

I think that she was trying to get a little attention. She may have been holding this in for so long that finally she just had to let it out.
I think she wanted attention yes, but she made a pretty powerful speech. So maybe she had to get it off her chest because she was offended and feelings hurt.
