Lava approaches Hawaiian Town.

Weeks ago, a Hawaiian volcano called Kilauea, erupted and is heading towards a town called Pahoa. The lava has been getting pretty close but has been inching every so often. Reporters say the lava has been slowing down to a turtles pace. Authorities say if the lave flow doesn't stop or get faster, that the people should take what they want and leave for a couple of weeks.

What would you do if a natural disaster affected your home or town?

  • Good job but be sure to provide a link to the story.

  • I would leave immediately. Pack up all of my belongings and head somewhere else. Unless it was something unexpected like an earthquake. I would come back and help rebuild the community.

  • I would try and help the elderly and the young people out of the town and help anyone that needs help.

  • I would be upset but I would be glad that I am alive.

  • I would try to evacuate the area but it would be hard because I have lived here all of my life.

  • i will live and stay some one else then go back when the disaster over

  • I would take what ever I could take at the moment and come back for the rest later.

  • If the lava was slowing faster and faster, I would wait it out until it got really close. I mean it's not like it's going to chase you down or something.

  • I would feel sad because that's where I grew up but as long as you have your prized possessions and what you want, you can go anywhere

  • I would feel very sad, because it would be the place that I grew up, so it would be hard to leave there.
